Yep these are the first models i ever painted, unless coating a tau stealth suit in scab red counts but like i said in the original post, my brother designed the scheme, he painted the bezerker in my avatar picture and gave me tips.

Wow, these are awesome comments i can't wait to see it painted either, i have like 3000 Points of Tau and the only painted models and the ones i got of someone else i never liked Chaos either but i eventually was consumed by the power of Chaos

Good start for a first miniature! Well done sir!
As for progress from this point, I would recommend adding a layer of highlight over the wash on the raised areas to make it further pop.
Also, personally, I would do something with the base. Ideally you would add details, paint and make the miniature look like it is on the battlefield. Of course, you might not fancy that on your first miniatures. If that is the case, simply painting the base black again to cover the inevitble overspills will make the miniature look better.
But well done and keep them coming!

Nice start here- finishing the bases would help, a contast is always good.

I also used to be Tau, until i gave up on the greater good and became a heretic hating Grey Knight! but still amazing models! Good Luck on the 3000 its of tau

The most needed thing IMHO is highlights (unless you already have them, and the picture quality hides them).
Other than that, you have it down pretty well.
