Hi all,

New to the site and the online 40k community. Ive been playing 40k on and off for the last 15yrs as a strictly informal player. After a 5yr break ive recently jumped back into the pool as an Ork player and a secondary chaos marine supporter... and man an i impressed with how the game has changed lol. Guessing this is the right forum to post as its about models right? Anyhows, apocalypse immediately grabbed my intention, specifically the idea of a solid presence on the table top being the prime motivator. So ive made this monstrosity, its 24" tall, 13" deep and 26" wide as it currently is.

Problem 1: lol, what is it? great or mega gargant? im totally clueless when it comes to apoc scaling, i just made it as it came together
Problem 2: any easy but accurate datasheets for it? im internet savvy but not fleet so a link would be awesome.
Problem 3: What on earth do I outfit it with in terms of weaponry? the gray paint is only a primer at this stage.

Ideas?

Sorry for multi edits, learning how to upload pics

Scaling.

You don't actually get rules for Gargants in APOC, but people normally use the rules for IOM Titans to represent them. They have rules for stompas that are sort of mini gargants, scary as venom and cheap in points.

Rough scaling.

Stompa: 15inch. They have rules

Gargant: I'm not sure on this ones height. Normally they use Reaver rules.

Great: 30inch. People normally use the Warlord rules for this.

Mega: 55inch aprox. Normally an Emperor.

The rules for super heavies can be found in the Apocalypse expansion. Then the datasheets can be found everywhere, such as the GW site, the Apoc Expansion and Imperial Armour Apocalypse.

Before scratch building ANYTHING. Always check it's wargear options.

As a non Ork player I would say:

1. Grots, Grots and more grots in silly places doing silly things.
2. Fill the rough areas in the foam because it looks like stone atm.
3. More Shooty bits
4. More panelling and riveted on plates. I suggest collecting up bits of plastic packaging for this.
5. The belly gun is not as convincing as the arms maybe put a section on the front of it and put some breach details on.
6. RED ONES GO FASTER!

All in all this is a great start.

You might learn quite a lot from this guy in fact. He's doing a full mega. Would make my great look rubbish even if it was smaller. Well I suppose that's because my Gargant is rubbish.
