Hi guys,

Im fairly new to the orks and i play a 4 battlewagon list. I would really appreciate any advise that could help me from getting tabled. I find that my orks die so easily its not even funny anymore haha.

This is my list that i usually play:

Ghazghul Thraka
Big Mek - KFF, eavy armor, cybork body, PK

15 Burnas (goes with battlewagon 1)
5 Lootas
5 Lootas

20 Ork boyz /w Nob, PK, Bosspole (goes in battlewagon 2)
20 Ork boyz /w Nob, PK, Bosspole (goes in battlewagon 3)
12 Ork boyz /w Nob, PK, Bosspole in Trukk
5 Meganobz (goes into battlewagon 4 with ghazghul)
dedicated transport: Battlewagon 4 - Deffrolla, armour plates, Red paint job, Grot riggers, Boarding planks

Deffkopta - buzzsaw, TL rokkit launcha
Deffkopta - buzzsaw, TL rokkit launcha
Deffkopta - buzzsaw, TL rokkit launcha

Battlewagon 1 - Deffrolla, armour plates, Red paint job, Grot riggers, Boarding planks
Battlewagon 2 - Deffrolla, armour plates, Red paint job, Grot riggers, Boarding planks
Battlewagon 3 - Deffrolla, armour plates, Red paint job, Grot riggers, Boarding planks

I find my battlewagons keep getting popped and my units die b4 they can reach anything. Purifiers especially. Once they manage to pop a battlewagon through the side.
Is there a specific way to arrange them? I try to get them all under the KFF but still not good enough

C&C is highly welcomed!

You need some guns on the BW's, a BShoota is just enough to stop it from getting immobilized from a weapon destroyed. I am not so much a fan of the burnas in BW's they are such I high risk squad. they never seems to get where they need to be as everyone knows how foolish they are if they get up there. Might want to drop them to add some Rokkit Trakks in there. I am not so much a fan of the Suicide koptas too. They just never seem to work for me, but personal taste. I also like to run two KFF in my BW list. It helps to cover everything that way. Ghaz really isn't needed in this lilst. A normal Megaboss would works and save you about 100 pts. Just some ideas for you to think about.

Cheers!

Great ideas. Without the burnas , ghazghul and bigger nobs squad just seems like the list does not have something that packs a punch. Boyz units always seem to get wiped out really quick. I havent had experience with more than 60 boyz though so i dont really know how brutal they can be.

I have to say that BDM and I have very, very few disagreements, and they are almost always a matter of taste.

I second everything he says.

The big shoota is necessary on the battlewagons.

Burna wagons I only run in friendly games, as they are devastating, but almost always seem to be thwarted, as previously stated.

Again, with Balsak, I am not a big fan of suicide koptas. While I have had some small success with them, they just don't pay off consistently enough for me to place them in regular lists. I AM a fan of rokkit buggies, and 3 vehicles in a squadron at a price of 105 points is a good deal.

With 4+ battlewagons, I do prefer 2 KFF Big Meks to cover them all, particularly if you add some rokkit buggies(or have more trukks) into the mix.

Ghaz is unnecessary, and only shines with footslogging lists. Warbosses are fun, but semi-competitive as they always strike last unless using a BC.

one truk on it's own is a little weak, anything can shoot at truks, so all the fire that can't kill AV14 is going for that one truk in round 1.
If you drop the truk, you could put one squad of lootas up to 15. At 2000 points, that's not a bad idea.

Battlewagons need one big shoota. Red paint never made a difference for me, but if it works for you then keep it.

Burnas are crazy fun, and actually pretty good if you don't mind to baby them. But your heading said competative, so I would also replace the burnas with either, 20 boyz, or a small squad of nobs. Then add 2 kombi-skorchas to the nobs.

I like the deff koptas, you can turbo boost in the scout move, giving them 3+ cover, soaking up a lot of shots. This also means that if you go first, you are close enough to move, shoot and assault any vehicle(that hasn't moved so it's automatic hits!!!). These are the 2 reasons I play with them.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Boyz units always seem to get wiped out really quick

Not sure how you manage that. Each of your squads has 20 wounds, and you should have at least 3 of them. That's 60 wounds!!! Even if your opponent rapid fires on them with BS4, and you have your 5+ cover save from the KFF, he needs a few hundred shots to get them.

Usually, most of my boyz die from templates, or combat. Templates you just have to plan, be sure to move in and charge. You have the speed to control the fights, use it!
If they die in combat, they have done their duty! And even if you loose 15 boyz and you take out 10 marines, it was worth it!
Boyz die, that's what they do, there's always more. Just don't let them die alone. They should go down swinging.
