Sunshine yellow rather than the traditional golden yellow, its what I had from when I got the Black Reach set. Silver breastplates look better than red on yellow to me, personal preference. Mold lines... blah I'm not a perfectionist. When I start greenstuff sculpting, I'll worry about mold lines.
As far as capturing the essence of the Fists...
I originally planned to write my own Chapter, but the background for the IF and particularly Lysander's nails-tough story made me lean toward a yellow army. But I also liked things from other Chapters. So one sergeant has a red foot like a White Scar. The whole Black Reach set had unique symbols drawn on their shoulder guards, which have eventually almost all been covered over white proper Imperial Fist sigils now. This is actually still a debate for me. You see, they are and are not Imperial Fists...
My first draft at a history had 'Vengeance Chapter' being a splinter crusade of the 'Fists, which had been more or less good naturedly excommunicated from their brothers for going after Lysander's ship when it was lost in the warp a thousand years ago. This will run long if I try to go into detail, so I'll post it in the fanfic forums and link it.

Not Chaos, necessarily, but something not at all fitting with the dour IF tradition. Think Soul Drinkers without being dupes of a daemon, and they aren't actually showing signs of mutation... yet.

^Those little round nobby things on the side of the plastic that bits come on. That's what those are. I wanted a heavy, industrial look. Without buying anything.
^It comes out pretty angry, right? He's got frags, kraks, a power sword, a plasma pistol, a combat shield, a jump pack, and a die with a 6 where the 1 should be. Its invisible.
My standard bearer. OK to give him a two handed weapon when one hand is permanently busy? Funny that I gave said weapon a foregrip?
1st Assault Sergeant repaint! This is just about my favorite. The thunder hammer is a big choppa.
My Company Champion. Combat shields are for people who don't love punching enough. What do you think of the Templar cross to show 1st Co. service?
Captain repaint! I like the blood spray effect it had but the blue lightning bolts were poop. New shiny silver is fine, except it shows the notch in the blade where I used fingernail clippers to take it off the frame.
Techmarine conversion! Missile launcher backpack servo arms cut to fit. Ork chainsword mounted on footboard. Red paintjob with flames to catch ork bikes
And that brings us to the angry fellows above. I felt like trying some tattoo work, and Astartes don't have a lot of open skin to work with so... I trimmed the nails on some ork arms.
I was going for orc abuse and taunting, as those are things I love to see in the dakka gallery.
