Was this really a dreadknight at one point, or did your amigo just build it from scratch to look like a looted dreadknight? It's such an amazing job, it's hard to believe that so much work went into it! Really, really good work here.

Thanks guys, we did both put a lot of work in. It's essentially a kitbash of the Dreadknight kit and Deff Dread kit, plus the Nob pilot and grots. In additional to that there has been some remodelling and wotnot. I was really happy with the build and it was great fun to paint.

Very nice job LutherMax! Really like the scene. Here are some critiques though:

- Visible mold lines, especially on the back legs. Seams should be filled with GS or milliput
- Drill out the exhaust vents at the top

Looks like your friend put a lot of effort into building this so he should go the extra mile to make sure it's "complete" with the above two items.

As for painting it looks awesome. I really like how you've blended the checkered pattern into the green armor. Weather looking good too. I would suggest doing something to pick out the edges of the various metal panels more. Either with edge highlights or a drybrush of boltgun. Right now, the various metal panels, especially on the shin areas lack contrast and blend into each other too much. This is a common issue when doing airbrush paintjobs and something I need to work on with my stuff too. Also try picking out the rivets as well. Other than that, you two did a great job!

Great model by all means, I'm just not a fan of the yellow paint effect on random places across the model.

Love the build, love the paintjob. I'm glad someone managed to find nits to pick - I usually try and give at least some criticsm when commenting on a model, but I was too awed, this time around.

Hi there! i'm the builder of this fine model, and i'd like to thank you for the comments. the two kits actually have several issues with regard to making the 'gap free'. For example the engine blocks on the back, those recieved around 4 LGS coats and did several of the other gaps, but the kit didn't respond well to it. Some of the mold lines (namely the spure lumps) were left as part of the brief (luther mentioned wanting it to be a painting challange, and i had performed similar efforts on my own when i painted them. So as not to hijack the thread, these are 5 links to the models which are what got luther interested in getting one for himself.

As for the drilling, totally up for blame there, my drill bitz snapped early on into the project, i only got the barrels drilled before it went dead. Luther was happy with what i'd managed to do, and i wasn't in a position where replacements were easily resourced.

thanks once again for the kinds word on the build, and i repeat my kudos for the paint job. luthers done a ridiculously awesome piece of work.

Excellent. I've built a few killa kans (read:lots) and I know those engine blocks on the backs can be an absolute pain to get looking good. They ever seem to line up right in any direction.

The paint job on this is fantastic as well!

I agree with what Eggroll said about the mould lines and gaps, it detracts from the model a little. Otherwise fantastic job, both of you! I'm a big fan of the neatness of the conversion, and I like the palate of colors chosen.

@ Therunabout, I couldn't say how long it took Skrall to build – it did take quite a while to paint (just because it's so big) but again I couldn't say exactly...
