Hi guys,

My plan for today was to do at least two more assault marines, but then I got distracted by shiny things.
My Furioso librarian namely.

I have him standing on my desk for over a year now. I thought it was time to paint him up to finally be able to field him.

I tried to get the same colour on him as on my TDA librarian. I forgot the recipe but I think it's pretty close. ^^

This has been done in 7 hours of painting.

Hope you like him.

This is wonderful work. I have to say though, I am not a fan of the red shoulder guards on the dread. NOTHING against your painting style or skill, it is awesome. I just don't like the red on this model.

That aside, I think the power weapon is one of the best effects I've ever seen. Beautiful gold/parchment work as well. All in all a brilliant model. Very good work.

It needs the red to show its a BA (and not a bloody smurf) personally I would have done the hands red too. Just looks a lil
Weird IMO to go blue red blue. But a very nice job none the less.

Really well done!
Keep up the good work

in Inquisitor, a Space Marine can take a krak grenade, pull out the pin, eat the grenade, throw the pin, and the thrown pin will actually kill a normal man, whereas the Space Marine won't even have indigestion. This has actually happened in a game. Hell, a marine can throw his bolt shells and do more damage than by shooting his boltgun

Thank you for your kind words.
Concerning the red. I needed some on the model. It's a blood angel after all.
; )

Since my TDA librarian has red shoulders on blue arms I decided to go the same way for this guy to make him look like the bigger brother of the other one. ^^

Thanks for your comment though.

True, true. And again, I'm not trying to take anything away from it, great painting all round. I don't think I caught that he's a Blood Angels librarian dread for some reason. I never learned to read.

How did you do the power/force weapon? I am having a terrible time doing the "lightning" effect for mine and I'm not really sure I even like lightning sword effects anyway. But I love that effect you did on this dread, looks like a swirling energy mass.

Great job. I particularly like the text on the scroll work and the tone of the mask.

Lovely job!!
I like the dark blue, , and that force sword is amazing, like an abstract piece of art.

Thank you all.
I will do a picture series on how I did the force weapon, when I'm back in Vienna on monday. It's really not that difficult. Nothing fancy. The complete weapon can be painted in 5 minutes.

I think what makes this look so fancy is the high contrast of the picture, due to the bad lighting. ^^

Edit:
For the blue it's adeptus battlegrey as a basecoat, followed by a layer of shadow grey, highlighted with space wolves grey and washed with asurmen blue ! twice ! (let the wash dry before applying it the second time)
