Here are 2 pics of the spare room in my apt in Ottawa which I have turned into my lil painting studio/smoking room.

1st let me explain that I used to live with my son and gf but shes a crazy nutcase and we brokeup a few months ago so I got a spare room (before that it was kitchen table painting). But anyways I would have bought a desk and made it all nice except I will be moving in a few months so figured I'd wait til then before I start adding new pieces of furniture. Anyways I paint on my air conditioner and I have a friend who comes over and paints every once in awhile but he doesnt sit on the chair, oh no he gets the milk crate. LOL.

The room suffices for now. You guys should post pics of your painting rooms. Would be kinda neat to get a glimpse into other peoples lives on here.

I'll bite. Here's a pic of my new studio that we just got finished in my basement. It's got tons of light thanks to daylight bulbs and plenty of space. You cant see it but there are almost 10 shelves off to the side that are almost full with model kits and bitz boxes. The gaming table was a hobby desk I got from Costco that I want to build a table top for. its already 5x3.5 so its almost the right size and has tons of storage as well. All I have to do is to install a spray booth for my airbrush and vent it out of the house.

An old image - I currently have about twice the clutter on the workbench. Not pictured are the wire storage shelves (you can actually see the corner of them under the miter box and wire coiling jig - very handy, at about 3.5'x3.5'x1', for stacking parts containers and shoeboxes full of stuff), the slightly larger wooden shelves, which hold finished models, books, and my pipes/cigars, and the reasonably large closet, in which I have several cases (1 large GW and several repurposed toolboxes, still packed with models wrapped in newspaper from the move, awaiting foam and paint for their inhabitants ), two 3-drawer plastic cabinets for mechanical gubbins, spray paints/varnishes, terrain, and the like, a few boxes of sprues, and my loose sheets of insulation board and foamcore.

The sense I get from these "show us your workspace" threads is that I have more hobby stuff than many, but less that is 100% dedicated to, or even useful for, wargaming modeling. I'm quite a scrounger, if not an outright hoarder, but I work at such a snail's pace that I tend to accumulate piles of crap that are doomed to remain as such, regardless of my lofty plans.

Hey thanks for posting guys. Really cool to see where alot of the magic happens.

I plan on getting a lil desk like Oadie has for my painting room soon as I move. Don't feel like lugging a table up 3 flights only to have to lug it down again in a few months.

Since I was looking for a reason to put off painting I poorly stitched together a panorama of the spare bedroom I use as my Man-Cave.

You'll probably have to zoom in to see it..

Here is my current workspace. I haven't painted much in the past month due to school so I have to apologize for the cleanliness. I probably won't be painting much until I get my DKoK in the mail.

Not sure if I'd call it a "lil desk" - it's a folding table that, while only 2' deep, is about 5' wide. Then again, what I see many people calling desks feel like an entire office's worth of furniture nailed together, compared to the tiny flat-pack chipboard jobs of my youth. Since I got the table for free, adding the one rolling plastic cabinet underneath gave me essentially the square footage and storage options of a much more expensive desk. Even if you had to buy both, I'd say the savings are well worth the lack of fancy plastic cherry-printed veneer, since you're going to spend your time chopping and painting things on top of it, anyway.
