Howdy All!

I have returned!

Now that real life has calmed down and a friend has got into 40k and picked up some Necrons I have gone back to the well.. I am in the process of redoing ALL my Death Korps in new colour schemes and also expanding the force. I will be posting all my progress here and hope to make you guys proud?!

Here is the first WIP pic.. still needs a little more work but its mostly done. Sorry for crappy pic, having a camera that is slowly on its way out is not helping this project!

So, most people will remember one of my first attempts at the Kreig in the form of the Grenadier Centaur which got nice feedback... since I have picked a new Scheme(s) I took a knife and carefully ripped it apart and started over. I used a couple of the crew to booster my Grenadiers squad and also did a little conversion work in the form of Mr Pointy at the back ... so here it is... the first (I hope) of many updates!

That's nice, really nice.

In all honesty I can't fault it, nice amount of weathering and my favourite colour scheme too.

Please do update often, I need motivation to get my Krieg done and this might just spur me on.

That weathering is nicely executed as well... How did you do it?

The quickest answer (And I am not kidding) is..... TEA! Seriously... tea+sand+PVA+Brown Paint+water=Regnak's Mud

Rest is using brown and boltgun metal for scrapes and layers of very watered down Scorched Brown for rest.. plus got my own home made weathering powders, they will be added soon

Man, you've got to feel sorry for the poor shmoes who try to grab a ride on one of those things. No suspension for the tracks (complete solid metal sides) means that would have been one hell of a bumpy ride.

No wonder IG BS for tanks is only 3

Fantastic work though, and I love your new recipe for the mud! Keep it up!

How'd you do the rims around the lens? Tried and failed 2-3 times on my Grenadiers and I am about to leave the mask white :(

Excellent work here! Definately subbed!

I appreciate the subtle conversions that you've gone through to create this little gem! They look very natural (which is the sign of a good conversion )

Keep up the great work!

What every Death Korps army needs... a Hades Breaching Drill! I still need to do a few touch ups and add a bit more rubble on the conveyor belt but I'm pretty happy so far with how its turned out. More pics to follow in a few days as I'm working the next few nights but I am making progress!

You should get 2 more of those things, that'll make you win every game you play
Also, is it possible to show the Drill from differential angles?

Looks nice!

Kinda looks like the rear is lifting up a bit. Thought i suppose with a massive drill like that on the front its not too surprising!

hmmmm... not enough junk in that trunk!

Might be the card I was using when took photo as was on an uneven surface... but will check that out and fix it!

Typical Vitruvian, goes straight for the flaws and mentions nothing about paint job... *Grumbles* There's no pleasing some people *Grumbles*

Yeah, plan on getting at least one more... Will take some more pics of it on my days off, only had enough time to shoot that before leaving for work

I paint the lens rim first and then paint the rest of the mask before adding some washes

Haha Regnak! Only by fixing our weaknesses can we hope to improve!

Very much like the dusty mud, and the number/symbol. Chipping is both well placed and well executed.

There, you happy now... ? Honestly, anything for an ego boost eh!

Quick idea for future drills. One idea my friend had when he was going to get one, was to place on the drill conveyor belt a enemy (Thing that is not imperium) Head or body part in the conveyor belt to represent a trooper who met an untimely end at the hands (or massive drill) of the Hades

It hurt more than you'll ever know..........

@blood lance: You know im really not sure anything that went through those drill heads would be at all recognisable!

Been working on a Leman Russ Vanquisher Stygies VIII class (I believe?) that I got from eBay. Cost me £22. I carefully removed the old Heavy Bolter Sponsons and added the new "Swap-out" ones so I can choose what its packing. I also removed the box at the back and added some spare filters from the DKOK superheavy addon. I'm thinking about moving the turret down a bit from what the original owner positioned. I have done a quick basecoat and will work on this more on my days off but here is a quick WIP. Should be more pics later in week of troops... Stay tuned!

I think the elevation could do with lowering a bit, it is a vanquisher after all, theyre not exactly known for arcing fire!

Yeah.. Thought that when I first saw it.. although it looks alot worse at the angle I took that pic! Will change that on my off days and add some more pics. Progress is a bit slower than planned as I am painting some Orks for my Fiancee's army also.

Pics to follow later in the day. Until then: a text update! Wha?! It's still an update damn it!

I have lowered the Russ' barrel and pinned it in place. Its been base coated and washed and will be dry brushed later in the day.

In other news I'm also waiting on 3x Las Cannon teams that I got for a bargain price on eBay. They need some work but think I can salvage them. One will be converted as I won 2 of the "Running with Gun" variants and will convert one to be stationary instead.

In just over 3hours I finish my shift and I'm off for 5 days so once I have had some sleep I'll begin the hobby time
