I have seen this effect on a few stormboys and thought i would give it a go!

I did this with a combi weapon AND a KFF just in case i want to use one or the other as I know it's not legal with the pair

Comments and suggestions are welcome

The shaping is great, but the painting doesn't quite work, for me. For one, there's some green from the clump foliage peeking out of several recesses. Try using Autumn foliage (the reds and yellows give any uncovered bits a fiery look) or soaking the foliage in watery paint to tint it before use. Also, drybrushing an exhaust plume doesn't work like standard highlighting - like when painting lava, things are cooling down and darkening as you move outward from the heat source. The effect works far better if you start with a white/yellow core, moving out to oranges, reds, and finally grey/black.

In its current state, it still looks pretty cool and definitely gets the point across (it's obviously rokkit exhaust, whether that's "how it actually looks" or not), but there's always room for improvement.

@Oadie: I see what you mean about the highlight and agree it should be grey/black.

Cheers for that!

Nice! A tad garish, but that's only IMHO.

It's a piece of wire with "clump foliage" (The stuff that makes bushes and trees) superglued on and then covered in watered down pva glue.
