I've almost finished my Chaos Lord and wanted to know what you guys think of him, I'm not a pro painter or anything and I have only painted about 10 models. I know its a generic pose. What do you guys think of the the Dark Angle on his trophy rack and the Tyranid, i think its Hive Fleet Kraken.



















I think personally that the black cape isn't doing him justice what do you guys think , how can I change it, I was think like a cream white ? The eye of Horus on his should pad I'm going to paint blue, again what are you thoughts ? Do you guys like the green eyes on the daemon face on the axe. I plan on painting the axe head purple like warp energy. Like this Khorne Berzerker Skull Champion's power weapon.

I would say he just needs more extreme highlighting. Take the red up a bit more, likewise with the black cape. Then, some freehand round the cape trim and highlights on the DA helm and he'll be looking great.

Also, maybe more green, it's a good spot colour. Try to do all his gems and 'lens' them and he'll pop a lot more.

What do mean "take up the red a bit more, likewise with the cape."

And I did highlight the Dark Angle helm but you can't see them well in the photo.

i think you should have painted the tyranid in different colours to his armour, for colour differenciation.

Well I haven't painted the carapace on it just done a highlight. But I was going to paint it purple but I didn't know how, any ideas?

I almost feel there's a little too much red. Are you planning on keeping the underside of the cape red? Also, I think the bolter should be a color other than red.
