Daemons win the roll off and give first turn to the necrons....
As you can see the video ends on Turn 4. Due to time constraints, T5 was pretty quick. I'll just break it down:
Necrons T5
----------------
- Wraiths eat yellow DP and consolidate toward my large wall
- Lots of firepower sees me lose 2 wounds on my thirster, and one horror
- In the assault, its a draw between the scarabs and fateweaver/the horrors
Daemons T5
--------------------
- Thirster charges and wrecks the middle A-barge
- I charge my fiends in and wipe the scarabs. Everything consolidates, I'm able to wall off my horrors from the wraiths using the fiends
In the end the Warriors control the ruins objective, while the daemons control the middle objective. The last objective stays untouched. I called it here to get in my other game.
DRAW GAME!
Afterthoughts: So this was mainly a game to test my new Necron build. If it had gone to T6 (most likely) the Necrons would have wiped out the remaining daemons I reckon. So here are my opinions of the game from both sides.
Daemons - Due to getting my bad wave, I was fighting an uphill battle the entire game. I got a lucky break on 4 getting everything else in, which allowed me to make a break for the middle and get the tie. But as I said, most likely the warriors would have knocked out at least enough fiends to let the wraiths through my wall into the horrors, which would have been GG. At that point my sole hope would have been for the BT to live and shred the necrons camping the objective. I also misplayed a bit at the end there, making a few bad calls. This I attribute to rushing there at the end. As for the Necrons, they were a lot harder to kill than I originally thought. I figured my horror squads would have mulched the warriors, but sadly being BS3 and bad rolls mean't the warriors didn't get owned too badly. Plus I placed the warriors with cover most of the time. Overall, was a bad showing for the Daemons, and would have been a second loss against my Necrons. Just means I need to keep practicing, hopefully against someone elses Necrons! Oh, and Daemon firepower is terribad against the 'Cron vehicles. Bolts definitely aren't enough and are making me think maybe a unit of Screamers needs to be added...
Necrons - I'll do this by unit as they were being tested this game...
CCB Overlord - Grade: B - This game he pretty much just flew around creating interferance, then getting run off by Fateweaver. Overall, he did his job though, creating disruption.
Nemesor - Grade: F - Well, he got ran down... didn't really get to do much of anything this game. I attribute this to the good rolls from the fiends.
Lychguard - Grade: C - They did well, creating a wall for the Fiends to get through for the warriors. I'm glad they died honestly, but almost thinking Shields would be better for those times I don't want them to die...
Warriors - Grade: A - They killed some stuff, and did their job. Yay warriors!
Scarabs - Grade: B - This game further cemented my thoughts about them: They suck at killing infantry. They suck even further against armies that lack tanks.... but they create good walls to keep warriors from getting hit!
Annihilation Barges - Grade: A++ - Oh my god these things were AMAZing this game. They threw out so much firepower that my princes and horrors couldn't make the saves. The arc didn't do much, but that was mostly due to rolls. These are damn good though. Find an area, sit still, and mow things down with tesla doom!
Wraiths - Grade: ? - They just sat around and created a wall around my warriors on the objective. Honestly think they would have done more this game, but there was nothing for them to do til turn 4.
Overall, the Phalanx style movement of this list is excellent. The warriors always have cover, as well as there is always a unit there to wall off or countercharge to save the warriors. Plus is throws down a frightening amount of firepower! I think it still has room for tweaks though.
Thanks for watching and, as always, feel free to comment!

The short range fire power of the necrons combined with their superior numbers means if the Daemons dont get preferred wave, then they are in for a shock.
When your wife suggests roleplay as a result of your table top gaming... life just seems right
I took my wife thru the BRB for fantasy and 40k, the first thing she said was "AWESOME"... codex: Chaos Daemons Nurgle..... to all those who says God aint real....
All depends on the horrors drop accurarcy and performance.
Altough i will give it to necrons, the list is far from optimal,
5 man necrons with techs NEED a ark, it will up survival and firepower!
i consistenly use 2 units with two techs in arks and one with two techs on foot for home objective camping when mission requires, untill now people have been heavily supprised by the number of shots coming out of them...
not to mention av 13 for str 8 bolts...

You have ruled this galaxy for ten thousand years
Yet have little of account to show for your efforts
Order. Unity. Obedience.
We taught the galaxy these things
I am surprised that the Daemons did as well as they did!
Perhaps GW will catch everyone by surprise and have the rumored 6th edition starter set be Grey Knights (as they have no starter box) vs Daemons (the shock value would be hilarious)!?
- 4000
- 1500 6th ed codex: 2 wins, 1 loss, 0 draws

Agreed, the game would have been less of a turkey shoot if id gotten the prefered wave
