Here are some of the models I have built and started to paint.
I have some small conversions and a bit of fun with some of these models.

Was the hope while I did them. Since those padsare used only for Sergeants and above I figured they should look their best.
Now I just need help painting gems. . .

Those shoulder pads are really striking! Good idea to save them for "special" models, too- might've been overkill if used on every marine. It will really help those models stand out from the pack!

That really was the idea. To many times during a game have I had models stuck in CC and people are like "Who is who" or some other thing like that. I also enjoy painting the pads alot.

Ok here is how you drybrush Sanguinary Guard wings, with blues!
Step 1: Base coat your wings with a dark blue. I used Necron Abyss, make sure to do a couple of thin coats.
Step 2: Drybrush a lighter blue that is 2-3 shades lighter. Here I used Enchanted Blue.
Step 3: Drybrush again with a lignter blue than the last. Here I used Ice Blue. Do not worry if this gets messy on the wings, when you wash the wings it will mute it..
Step 4: Wash with a good blue wash. Here I used Secret Weapon Minitures Sapphire. After 5 minutes of shaking to get it ready I threw on a thick coat and let it sit. Now The wash I used is a dark glaze like wash.
Add on: One thing you could do is use a dark wash on the bottom areas of the wings and a lighter blue glaze on the top to give highlighting a boost. If you do thic make sure to drybrush with the lighter blue on the glaze area only.
Step 5: This is the last step. Drybrush with the blue from step 2. Go very lightly!

Interesting colour scheme there, like to see lots of WIP pics.
Don't think i'd have put the blue and red together like that, but to be honest it works.

Any color scheme works but you have to follow the tri color idea. It does not matter how the tri color goes as long as you have it.
Any ideas on improving what I have? Or painting jewels?

So I am taking on commission work to help pay for my habit, brushes new paints etc!
Here are some pictires of what I am working on. The first set of pictures is what was given to me to paint (I had not touched them yet)
The second set is what I have done. Now this is a Howling Banshee squad and I know I did not paint the colors lile they should be, but this was at the request of the client so please no hating on the what they look lile, ease comment on things I need to work on!
What I have done is still WIP and does need touch ups and highlighting as well as shading.

so are you repainting in the scheme that you just showed us or is the client going to let you go do what you want? Personally i like the orinal white scheme of the first batch just my thoughts and did you paint the dottom one cuase i really like her hair me gusta. good job buddy.

The Top ones are what they looked like. The client did not like it that much and wanted a more fearsome looking eldar without getting into the Dark Eldar realm. He gave me artistic leeway for painting but wanted black armor as a minimum. Everything else is my idea though they are only about 60% done. . .
For the bottom 2 I did the hair, I followed my drybrysh tutorial to do it but I used a reds instead. It was relitivly simplistic tbh.
The only real issue I had for the orginal paint scheme was that the paint was pretty much a single layer and really did not have any depth to it, not to mention in areas you could see the primer through the paint.

yea i can see where banshees should be fearsome. i dunno what i think about black body suits kinda sounds like de to me, but whatever makes the client happy i suppose.
well either way man keep it up and looking forward to seeing the girls all beautified. are you going to add some wear and tear?
not like full bore weathering like mechanimum john (he has some cool de if you want to check that out) but more of a worn look about them like the armor is really old? just a thought.

I am going to add blood and gore even though I am being paid for table top quality, since this is my first commission I want to have some pictures to add to my fliers.
They will look better than table top but not to huge.
ad for how I am going to add gore here is a tutorial I fell in love with: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/446259.page" target="_new" rel="nofollow"> http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/446259.page

Well here is a mini update.
I just tested the new Citadel Texture paint Mourn Mountain Snow.
I added a blue wash to it for 1 model and the other I left plain. Thoughts?
I am leaning towards the plain texture over the added blue.
The blue added in to me looks like it would be perfect for Space Wolves.
