Finally got this set done, took a while but, I am really happy with the results. The new citadel paints are great, especially the textured stuff,
Decided to represent the ultramarines, dark angels, raven guard, and raptors.
Let me know what you think, especially let me know what you think of the raven guard and raptor shoulder pads, Those chapter symbols were my first free hand attempt
Thanks guys

Excellent!
The Raptor's shoulder pad is great and the highlighting of the black on the Ravenguard is really good- is it just Codex Grey?
Did you come across the problem of the old style armour coming with the new backpacks and bolters? Seems a bit of a cop out by Citadel!

Nice painting.
Does anyone else think GW should do one of these packs for Terminator Armour?

Either you are extremely nostalgic, or you have no idea what old Termie armour looked like? - you didn't need to be a great warrior to earn the right to wear the armour, you just needed to have shoulders higher than your head!

The only poorly painted miniature is the one that is not painted. |

Yes, the highlights on the raven guard marine are just codex grey.
And it was pretty hard getting the old minis to work with the new sm parts,
First off the back packs don't quite fit right, so that require some metal file magic and since the newer sm models have giant chests it was hard to make the new arms and shoulder pads match up properly and not look weird. I just had to find the right pose for each min

Seconded, the Thunder Armour needs to be made. Nevermind 30k and Pre-heresy, how about Warhammer Age of Strife?

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |

The freehand work is swell. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldn't have known. I feel like the blank shoulder pads need something in them though.

Hear, hear. They'd probably want to update the look at bit, but overall it wouldn't seem to be a major undertaking for FW.
