WIP thread can be found here.

These guys were a commission based on an old unit I built for the UK GD a few years ago. Getting another go at them was pretty cool because it allowed me to fix up a bunch of area's I wasn't totally happy with the first time around, and I think they've turned out pretty well. At the last minute the client expressed an interest in backing out of the deal if an alternate buyer could be found, so we elected not to add the blood splatters/tattoo's/armour runes, since doing so would only add more cost. (This also means that these are for sale for a limited period, so if anyone is interested in picking up a totally unique unit, get in touch!)

Aside from that, though, I'm happy with how they've turned out. A much cleaner, more striking look than the previous unit, so an improvement on the whole!

AWESOME FANTASTIC no really colour scheme conversion work is tops, and so much better for the none marine look.

But the most impressive part is the convincing double chain blade, I say this as usually they never match up right but you have achieved it perfectly

Hah, where to start?

The original GD squad taught me a lot, so going into these guys was a lot more straightfoward, since I'd worked out the design kinks the first time around. Without leading into a huge wall of text on the exact steps, once I'd seperated all the bits and cleaned them, It was (relatively) simply a matter of getting the core poses sorted out and glued. Arms were left off so that i could sculpt the belts, the lower leg plating and the necks in without having too many unnecessary appendages in the way. Once all that sculpting had cured i was able to add the arms and sort out the sculpting to blend the shoulders in, and once that had cured, the last step was adding the backpack vents and sculpting those into their backs. There's a decent image in the WIP thread of the unit before any painting began.

Once the conversion process was done (about 4 hours per model, on average) the painting was pretty much production lined in stages. First the reds, then the flesh, and then the brass/golds, so that was probably about 85% of the work right there. After that it was a reasonably straightforward case of doing the remaining metals and any additional details like plasma pistols/necklaces/World Eater icons and so on. If you're interested in some of the recipes used, I think I posted most of the important ones in the WIP thread, but I can elaborate here if there are any I missed or you'd like further info on.

Cheers for all the comments so far guys. It's great to see them so well recieved!

CMON link is active guys. It's been mentioned to me in a couple of places that some people are having problems with viewing the images, so if you happen to be one of the few people suffering from that problem, you'll probably be able to see the image at the link.

Again guys, thanks for all your comments. <3
