The bases, especially the cobblestone one, look great.
I will be following your progress closely.

Three more bases while waiting for the other colors to arrive. One of them is very recognizable

Yes it is
I was wondering about the amount of light jacks you have under construction, but now it is pretty clear why those are needed. Have you already gotten the rangers to go with him?

two units of rangers should be on their way to me as I write this.
I do tend to have certain OCD when it comes to army collection since i have to have them all!
Problem with warmachine is that there is a lot of all to have
Current todo list (of owned models) is:
firefly
lancer x2
hunter
sentinel
charger x2
thorn
ironclad
trenchers
trencher officer + sharpshooter
trencher cannon
trencher chaingun
trencher grenade porter
long gunners (old box, 6 models)
pCaine
pStryker
Kraye
Units on the way to me:
rangers x2
hunter
ol' rowdy
thunderhead
heavy jack kit x3
centurion
hammersmith
minuteman x3
storm strider
squire
stormsmiths x3
blach 13th
siege
eNemo
pNemo
eStryker
eCaine
eHailey
pHailey
Sloane
Eventually i will get the rest of the units and jacks (once my seriously depleted hobby budget rises again )

That's one sharp and clean looking jack. Gold and blue work together well and the furnace glows bring nice character and detail to it.
The gold on the shoulder pads looks a bit too clean in the photos, it could use a little more contrast or shading next to the studs and rim.
The base brings the jack together really well and I bet he stands really well against the table top.

I fixed up the flat gold shoulderpads. You can see the final product in this thread:
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/449176.page
As for the tabletop, it will be a while till he gets there. I have this self-enforced rule that I never play with an unpainted model, and this is the first finished model of my Cygnar army It will take a bit of time until i have enough painted models to play a few games

Can I ask a few questions? If you used GW paints for those models, which ones did you use? I have just started a Cygnar army and I desperately want to paint them (never done a blue army before, its just so pretty compared to my normal greens and browns), but I'm not sure how to do it best with GW paints (I want to avoid ducking off and getting a whole wack of paints from another store when I can use the paints I already have). I imagined a dark blue (mordian perhaps) followed by enchanted and highlighted with a mix of enchanted and ice blue? (those are the old colour names I think...)

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own... |

For blues I didn't use GW, but Vallejo (you can find equivalent charts I think). Base coat was Vallejo extra opaque heavy blue (quite close to mordian blue, first highlight was Vallejo electric blue (don't know the equivalent from the top of my head), and the final highlight was 1:1 mix of electric blue and glacial blue (don't know equivalent for this one either). Then i had a blue ink glaze on top of it all, and another very thin layer of the last highlight colour.
Gold was also done with Vallejo. Base coat was Vallejo tinny tin ( GW tin bitz) and then Vallejo glorious gold on top of it.
The rest of the metal was proper GW boltgun metal, washed with P3 armour wash (thinned down with local brand floor cleaner ) and slightly highlighted with GW chainmail. Knee pads were done with ianden darksun washed with devlan mud
Furnace, eyes, slots in the hammer were done with GW blazing orange, and sunburst yellow.

Nice and clean looking piece. I think you need to tune up the contrast on Kraye's torso and where the saddle and rider meet to make the areas look more defined.
The base looks great and the color selection is spot on, waiting to see you complete him after your vacation.

Some wreck markers. The big question is whether to leave them all dirty and grimy as they are or go on even more crazy on them?

Nice work on the wreck markers. You could add some chipping on the blue and some dirt to the steel, but they are more than ready as they are currently.

I'm definitely gonna add some more to them. Wanna do some corrosion on metals. Time to whip out my weathering powders and give them a spin I will also try to add verdigris effect to bronze parts. Still thinking how to make trampled oily grass

Oily grass can probably work quite ok with some washes applied over static grass. If you add some gloss varnish with some dark brown paint added it should appear nice and oily. The trample effect might be bit harder to achieve.
