I'm making a set of Tyranid Terrain for my FLGS, and its been a real treat to work with the owner's enthusiasm and desire to make a very dense, very interchangable set. The centerpieces for the set are going to be 3 objects roughly 1 cubic foot in size each, all of them made to be able to flip over to provide a different gaming experience. The set also has a mountain of other terrain features including underground cavern roads, infested imperial bases, and epic sweeping spires leading to other levels of the terrain.
The end effect is going to be a 4x6 table, densely packed with terrain, with sections that reach up to 3 feet off of the table. The WIP pics that follow represent about half of all the terrain planned, the remainder being things like barricade walls, cover, and ramps.
Questions for Dakka:
1) How much terrain is too much?
2) How would vertical climbs affect your army?
3) Can you provide a pic of your own super dense terrain?
Anyway, on to the picture dump.

Are you sure you're not Doomthumbs? I thought I recognised those nids for a second!
Anyhow, I really like what you've started, and to me you've captured the tyranid bio-terrain idea well.

Thanks! Its tough to work with for sure. Messy, hard to tell how much any particular section will expand, warps if it gets put on too thick... It worked out ok for me I think because I took my time with multiple separate applications instead of trying to get it all on there at once.

Thank you! The Great Stuff expanding foam did a lot of the work for me, especially on the capillary tower parts. Good eye!
