So not sure if my poor marines are fit to be in a group called a showcase, but here are some shots. These are pretty old photos but they are all I have at the moment. Updates to these would include alot of highlighting and washes on the guys with robes. Also I have recently been doing a good deal adding bits (purity seals, bags, touch-ups, basing). But these are as done as I am able to get them for the near future.
Comments and (better yet) critics are most welcome
Fire
P.S. before anyone asks these were painted using enamel paint partly because I was young and foolish and partly because I actually prefer using them to acrylics. so as a second update these have been touch-up with acrylic paint and new work is being done with that type of paint

It's a good start and a nice color scheme, but there is definitely room for improvement.
They look very monochromatic, even with the few with red roses. Basing will relieve some of this, but your guys still look very dark. Part of the problem is that you can still see some of the black primer underneath. This is very evident with the reds. You have gold Eagles which break up all the silver, but even that seems dark and understated.
The eyes also look dark and flat. Look at tutorials on how to paint space marine eyes. Since your guys are essentially grey Knights color scheme, look at the gw site and use their Grey Knight pictures as a reference.
Good luck, can't wait to see the updates!

They look like Iron Warriors to me....Which is an Army I love. I use red enamel paint for blood and gore sometimes. I see how difficult it is to work with and applaud you with the results you were able to achieve with the gaky paint that is enamel. I'd love to see some more recent pics before I pass any judgement as I could give better praise or constructive criticism and what not then. But for now they look pretty solid. Although there are a few mould lines I see here and there...

Thanks for the comments everyone.
Part of the problem is that you can still see some of the black primer underneath.
Lav25gunner: If you are referring to the shoulders and joints (knees and elbows) that is as intended. These are a dark angels successor chapter and that is not primer, there are 3 coats of black on the shoulders not including primer. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Guardians_of_the_Covenant#.T9NhD7WQPHY here is the link for them, as they are DA successors I wanted them to have a dark and muted color scheme. But if you are speaking of somewhere else there being primer please forgive me and elaborate on what you mean. And for the eyes I am not sure what to do, I have tried gemming a few and it just does not seem to have the same effect as it did on my tau. I was considering osl but have not decided on a color a brighter green was my first thought (the eyes now are just straight blue).
Also what would you recommend for basing I have been leaning towards a desert base but am not sure at this point.
However I do agree it needs to be broken up and I have tried doing that by adding ammo bags, purity seals and other doo-dads.
I don't have my camera right now but I hope to have some updated pics in about a week or so.

These are the next 5 models that I have finished I have tried to get better photos and work alot on my freehand for the shoulders. This is also my first attempt at an urban style base.
Again all comment and critics are most welcome so I can improve my models.

What color wash would you suggest? Would you use different ones for the red robes then for the armor?

You need to work on basing them a bit better I'd say.
Other than that, the major remaining fault is that you need to clean up your lenses; even on your newer models you have a bit of splash over the eyes.

How would you recommend that I improve on the bases. This was my first attempt at an urban style and I realize cardboard may not have been the best choice. What material should I use?

They look good. I can tell you that your chapter icons will get better as you practice. Mine went from chunky to smooth in about 3 months of trying. The secret for me was thinning your paint.

I think that those that you have based are fine! I've heard PVA helps to protect cardboard, though don't quote me.
I was referring more to your models on undecorated bases
