Hi Guys, hope Im not doubling up on an existing thread (I did a search and found nothing) - Im considering scratch building chaos versions of the Imperial Fortifications (to both have more characterful Fortifications, and to save a little cash).

I would like to get some approximate dimensions though - height, width, length - also how deep the walkways and crenellations are in the Fortress - to make sure Im not too far off on scale .

Thanks to everyone who responded, as well as those other threads I have found with this information. Still looking for Bastion details - thanks

Looking for info on:
- Aegis Defence line:

Tall parts are 1.5", low parts 1" high.
The short section is 2" wide, the long section about 5.25"
On the long section, the middle part is 1" further back than the two tall parts.
The "mail slot" is 1.25" from the ground.

The mounting of the quad-gun is exactly as high a tall piece of the wall, the gun itself is entirely above the wall.

- skyshield

The skyshield landingpad is an octagon 11.5" square and 3" to the top plate. The flaps are 1.5" tall

- it's NOT a regular octagon (regular in this sense means that ALL sides are of equal length.)
The short sides are 100mm and the centre to edge measurement (of the main platform) is 160mm (centre to long sides is 148mm).

- bastions

- fortress of redemption

Tower
5" wide at base
~ 4.5" wide at top
14" tall

You may want to look at a picture of the bunkers to see what Im talking about next,

Bunkers

Octagon shaped
7 5/8" wide from side to the opposite side at bottom(6 3/4" top), then the middle of each side sticks out an extra 1 1/4 at bottom"
Missle silo is 2.5" diameter in the center of the bunker
Walkway is 2.5" high
Bunker itself is 4" tall

Bunker sitting next to tower is cut 2" both directions in on walkway level basically right up to the missile silo

The walkway itself I can measure but my measurements would be hard to say without a picture, I should get my phone back sometime this week and I could take a picture next to a ruler and label some stuff with measurements for you, but this should be a decent start for you I think

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. I also hope someone else will find this information of use.

Also - if you have done some conversions or created your own, feel free to post to this thread - Inspiration is also welcome .

Hmmm - I did do a search, but only within dakka. If I just do a straight google search... Magic! http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/460299.page

I'll have to dig my skyshield out to take measurements.
It's been buried in one of my 55l tubs of terrain in the shed for months (stopped using it for 40k a bit before I stopped playing 40k period).

Bigger than the wingspan of the Valkyrie (which is about 28cm) so probably 30-32 cm across, octagonal shape. I have to check whether it is a regular octagon or irregular (whether or not all sides have the same length).

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

FYI - short is a single shield that's 5cm long, the large one is 13cm long.

Thanks Darkkt, I was waiting to come home and start this same thread. Some additional questions- could you say how tall are those defense lines? Also could you compile everything on the first post for ease of reading?

Great work though, you read my mind!

I can finish the walkway dimmensions of the FoR after I eat and shower, I can also measure one of my bastions, and include a few photos of my fortress, bastion and aegis defence line with a ruler beside items as I finally got my new phone.

That would be awesome. I've been building my bastion just staring at throw pic in the rulebook for reference.

Alright, I got sucked in painting a few models, and now I can't find my USB cord for my phone... I'll upload them tomorrow after work as I have a horrible headache and CBA to find it.

I built this yesterday

Measurements as follows.

4 pieces 1" by 6"

4 pieces 4" on top, 6" on bottom, 2" tall

Make them into a box, sort of shape

Make lid for box, 6" square, and rabbit cut the edges

Make 4" square lid, and rabbit cut it, for slanted box thing

Glue both boxes together and while that's drying make a 4" cube with rabbit cut lid

Glue that together

Add Slanty parts

Center piece is 8" long by 1"
Side pieces are 8" on one side, 5 1/2" on opposite side, 2" along bottom edge, and 1 1/2" accross the top

Add Corner Pieces

Corners are 3/4" squares, rabbit cut, and joined

Nitpicking here but, I don't think it can be both Octagon and Square

- skyshield

The sides are not equal length. Anyone have the measurements for the short and long sides ?

Good point - not very clear. I took it to be a 'square' with the corners cut off (so 8 sided), but sounds like its a rectangle with corners cut off.

I will continue the search - all assistance greatly appreciated

It looks like it was a square with the corners cut of, bu the length of the sides isn't all the same length.
