So the topic said it all, as a Tau player I find a little dissapointing the fact that none of my units can really shot at flyers (I suppose next codex will fix that) sooo, im thinking about using the Aegis defense lines + Gun emplacements but i can't find the measure of a section, would you gentle dakkanites helpme?

They seem to be about 7 inches for the long sections, and about half that for the short sections.

But I would like to find out their actual dimensions as well (Length and height of the long and short sections).

I'll measure mine when I get home.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

2" and 5" actually, same as last week.

Tall parts are 1.5", low parts 1" high.
The short section is 2" wide, the long section about 5.25"
On the long section, the middle part is 1" further back than the two tall parts.
The "mail slot" is 1.25" from the ground.

The mounting of the quad-gun is exactly as high a tall piece of the wall, the gun itself is entirely above the wall.

When I see posts like this, the first question that comes to mind is...have you played a game yet against a flyer?

They have two hull points and most are av10-12. Your firewarrior squads can deal with all flyers but the ig and stromraven.

Flyers are very easy to deal with so far.

3 hullpoints...

and vendettas are only 130 points...

...but most flyers aren't a problem.

If you are ahvin problems, try Ion cannons, or Broadsides. The former has sufficient shots to score a hit or two, especially in pairs, and Broadsides rerolls to hit mean you could score a hit. And, becuase they are AP 1, they will do +2 to the table in the pen, which they only need a 3+ to do in worst case scenario.

in fact, if its Ork flyers, massed Pulse Rifles can do the job. Enough shots to score a few hits, and 1/3 will do somehing. As you only need 3 5+s to destroy it, its not to bad.
