Anyone know of any good scale toys or models of Ah-64 apache Attack helicopters that could be used for Valkries or Vendettas? I think 1:35-1:48 is the range to go for, but I have not been too lucky at finding anything. Has anyone tried similar and has advice for me?

Either 1:32 or 1:35 seems to be the general consensus for converting models into 40K pieces. 1:48 is too small.
Now as to finding an Apache in 1:35 scale, that could be tricky. Revell makes one, but the reviews I've seen seems to indicate it can be a troublesome kit. There is a different 1:32 kit that is supposedly much better. IMEX, Hapdong, and Acadamy all have 1:35 kits as well. Testors has a snap-tite 1:32 kit.
Ebay has several Apaches in 1:35 scale, going for between $30 and $50 before shipping. Oddly, the 1:32 kits there seem to be between $15 and $40. Go figure.
It's amazing what you can turn up with a simple yahoo or google search!

Thanks for the reply Vulcan, I had searched Google and Ebay, but I was unsure of what size I was looking for.

Aircraft wise, go for 1/48
Real life aircraft are HUGE
Plus 1/48 is usually the de facto scale for aircraft, or at least air plane wise

Actually in this case you will want to get a 1/48 scale apache otherwise it will be just too big and will just look out of place. While 1/35 scale is the prefered size when it comes to converting for tabletop this really only applies to ground vehicles and like kenshin said 1/48 is the scale you want when working with aircraft..
However to make it look correct you will have to modify the cockpit a little to make it look more proportionate with heroic scale figures.

The IG sentinel pilot figures will fit into the cockpit of a 1/48 Apache (the seats might need modifying though).

The problem I have with using an Apache is that it has no transport capacity. At least with a Hind you can get a few guys in there.
A Vulture, however, is a different kettle of fish

I used a 1/48th Academy kit of the Apache, the only problem I found was it didn't have any crew.
I well post up a couple of pics later
