So I was looking through my vast collection of miniatures, and I noticed something;

My first guard army has not received much love lately. So I decided that I'm going to revamp them.

I organized a platoon for them, and have started gathering resources and plans together. Most of them already have my favorite heads EVER (Pig Iron Kolony Militia), but I decided that I'm going to repaint them as well.

I also decided that I'm going to change their legs up a bit, and I found the Pig Iron legs.

This sprue will be used for my Company Command Squad...

And this sprue will be used on everyone else. I will bend them and modify them for some variety. (Hopefully I won't break any of them )

I will also restock on heads.

Should look pretty damn good imo, I like the new legs and those heads are of course the best ones for guard! :-) colour choice is cool too, very real world fatigues-ish

Believe me, I would if I had the proper paint. I'm going to have to run out and buy some Olive Drab spray paint, something to drybrush onto the armor to make it look nice, and I'm going to have to find an assortment of tans and stuff for the cloth. Plus, I'm going to have to order me some legs.

Went ahead and created the standards for the Brimlock 257th in Photoshop. I'll only have 1 platoon, because I'll have them ally with my Grenadiers, or any other army (I'm creating them as allied detachments).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I will print these out on decal sheets kind of like the ones you get with infantry boxes, except these ones are blank. I'll then attach them to the flags, when I need to.

Well, this should hopefully have been enough content for a little while. I'm going to see about getting these guys some paint, while removing old paint from the rest of the army (joy) and adding the new legs. Ta ta for now, and enjoy da models.

NEW UPDATE AT LONG LAST!!!

Anyways, here's a test color scheme I did. Personally, I think it's a little too similar to the Cadian 8th, but I still like it. I think I'm going to keep it.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
It's not exactly visible in the pictures, but I slapped some paint on the arms and legs as a sort of camo scheme.

Thank ya both. I'll be sure to finish a couple of squads soon (command and special weapons). I've gotten that painting combination perfectly now, and it is amazingly simple.

Alright y'all, I'm back! And I have a painted squad with me! I have figured out the perfect combination for painting these guys, and it is incredibly easy (and looks great). I also darkened the armor a bit so they look a little less like the Cadian 8th.

Friendly update here: In my haste to put together the regiment, it appears that I have forgotten a 2nd troop...choice...

To remedy that, I have ordered an extreme veteran squad.

It involves Harker, greenstuff, and Valhallans.

I will post updates when my shipment arrives.

Also, there's a debate on tonight, so any Americans who can vote this year (or who care), feel free to watch! Also, if you don't care (or are not an American citizen), feel free to watch the YouTube clips later to make fun of silly politicians saying silly things.

But nice to see another Guard player hard at it. Nice blog, I'm subbed, keep it up!

Here are all of my Brimlocks as it stands. Hidden in this picture is a spoiler for a future blog I may make. Also included are the options for the Valhallan veteran squad to include Harkovsky or a regular sergeant toting a shotgun that I found.

Here is the aforementioned sergeant. :P
