I think you could learn a lot from using washes to shade your models. They can really help bring out the details, such as the edges of the Khorne symbols and the recesses of the flesh and the cloak.
That's a more general painting tip, though - I have to say, the way you've picked out the details with really vibrant colours really makes this work! Kinda reminds me of the old Monster In My Pocket toys. Don't shade this one, but do look into washes for other models.

Much better than the mini's I produced at 12! A brown or black wash on the skulls would really make them pop.

He did use washes, I am his brother, I was watching him. The pictures don't do it justice for some reason. The only thing I can find wrong with the technique is the lack of highlighting/blending on the armour. He used red wash on te armour and a purple and back wash on the cape, going over it in white to bring the skulls out again in detail. Though he could was the skulls at the base in order to make them stand out.

I found his blending on the flame particularly impressive, you can't see it that well but it goes from light to dark with highlighting.

Great job there mate! The daemon blade has a really nice effect on it, and the eyes look like they are glowing, which gives the effect of being a daemon.

Keep going how you are, and you will be a great painter in no time!

Very bright, some areas could do with a wash. The base could have a bit more work. But besides nitpicking it's fantastic, I love the glowing eyes.

the base didn't really turn out how it was meant to

I really like this. The only way I would improve it is a sepia wash on the bones. Otherwise, awesome!
