So...traded a bunch of still on sprue space wolves for a bunch of tyranids, got the tyranids today in the mail...and I don't know if I have a lack of surprise or what...maybe I was expecting to get garbage

got 2 metal zoanthrops both caked in glue....and on of them is actually broken off at the tail...where it meets that tentacle thing
1 metal broodlord...broken, caked with glue as well
6 warriors, arms broken off and they did something to actually melt the plastic...horrible
some warrior bits
the lower half of a hive tyrant...he told me the hip part was there so I could attach the upper and lower halves together....not there
20 gargoyles...some with the pegs broken off inside of them...horrible

I'm not sure what to do I sent him a message today asking him to return the package, guess I'll wait and see what he does...guess this will be the last time I deal with the people on this site...can't trust them at all

I wouldn't say that you can't trust people here, I just think these are several precautions to avoid situations. One of which is definitely get pictures when buying or trading anything. I hope things get worked out for you!

This isn't really a proper Transaction Report. You got what you were trading for (with the exception of the hip part).

Did you get pics first? Always get pics first.

I'm sorry this experience was bad, but I have had nothing but good experiences on Dakka trading. There is a certain amount of legwork you need to do first though.

I think I will leave this open just to allow Trogdor his right of reply but as others have stated, you really should avoid buying/trading anything sight unseen. That being said, if his description of said items doesn't or didn't match what was said, then there is an obvious issue with the trade. Hopefully this can be settled amicably.

I did have pictures which is the funny thing...and they looked fine...guess I wasn't expecting to get a bunch of mangled stuff...but what can you do right?

Well, if the pictures did not match the items you received, that is an entirely different issue and you can probably reverse the trade at the very least.

Agreed. I'm also tempted to ask how well did this person package everything. Did the stuff break as a result of poor packaging, or were they well packaged and just found to be in the condition you found them?

I'll wait and see what Trogdor has to say before commenting further, but it might behoove you to post pics of what he sent you AND of what you actually got to this thread for others to see.

Good luck to the both of you.

You happen to have the pics of the items he sent and then post pics of the items you got ?

I just did a trade with Trogdor for some IG. I had nothing but good relations with him! I even shipped my items first, something I NEVER do on Dakka-Dakka. But he held up his end of the bargain, he also had to pay a $40 brokerage fee due to UPS messing up the international shipping!

I traded some SW stuff for some IG tanks and bits, all came neatly packaged with no damage that couldn't be fixed with a little glue.

It will help your situation if you post (in an organized fashion) maybe some of the correspondence between you and him so we can say if possibly it was stated that the items were in poor condition.

I will say also that glue can be removed with a little effort if they sit in SG or LAs TA long enough. Good luck!

The OP describes items which are very similar to a tyranid lot I sold Trogdor about 3 weeks ago. Sorry it didn't work out for you--he was an excellent customer to me; prompt payment. Pics of the lot are in my photobucket http://s1147.photobucket.com/albums/o544/erewego86/

Out of curiosity, how much did he charge for the lot?

Ere we go is correct, I have been buying and selling things on dakka dakka as sort of a hobby really. I showed him pictures of the models to which he seemed fine with and sent them. We had an issue where he wanted me to send first which I wasn't comfortable with and I asked for shipment at the same time. I didn't think I was screwing him over so I felt like this was fair to prevent anybody from not sending etc.

He PM'ed me this morning and was quite displeased. I apologized and said I would ship back his items when I receive them (which I have not yet). It was not my intention to screw him over, and I'm doing my best to remedy the situation.

*edit: I actually did receive his package as I was leaving for worrk. I will gladly send it back as soon as we get this worked out, and when I know I will be receiving my package back as well

It does suck to get things that aren't what you'd hoped they'd be. However to be fair if the OP JUST got the box in the mail, just sent the trader a PM and hasn't given the Trader a chance to answer and say how he would like to rectify the situation... this Trader report seems to be a bit too knee jerk. If Tro hadn't answered several PMs in relation to this I would understand but not even having heard back from him, it just seems a bit unfair.

Communication between each other should be the first recourse, the BTR should be the last. Just My 2 cents.

I can understand the knee jerk reaction response to something like this. No one likes to feel that they've been cheated, and when we do feel that way, sometimes it's hard to be patient. I'm glad that Trog has replied though, and has shared his end of this situation. From what it seems, it does appear that the OP and Trog are being civil about it.

Good luck in the future, guys. I just hope you and others have learned from this little ordeal.

Yea I might have been a little over excited about this...this guy is a really great guy to talk to and deal with, like he said he would send the stuff back....and for some reason like he said he hasn't received the package and I can't seem to track it through canada post at all...just a shame to see such damage and I was excited to get this stuff to =(
