Greetings all,
I think my subject explains what I am looking for; I want to make a Cadian Cavalry squad and was hoping to do it with plastic models (they do not have to be GW).
Any thoughts? Did a search, but I didn't find anything I liked.
Thanks!

It's only really the legs you need, right?
Plastic WHFB horses are easy to get hold of, and you can use Cadian torsos?
Plastic legs are a bit harder - the Chaos Marauder Horsemen kit in WHFB is good. If you go with metal legs, Victoria Minis make a good conversion set for IG Rough Riders....

Excellent link, I think that will work perfectly. I'll also look into WHFB horses for that part.
Thanks for the information!

I bought the brettonian knights of the realm & GS'ed in the chain mail on the legs, stuck a cadian torso on there & turned the steel pointy leggings into cavalry boots. I cut the glove off of each torso & attached it to one of the handless rifle supporting cadian arms to hold the reins.

I hate the idea of horse rough riders, because in my brain, I can't get around the fact that theyre only T3, 1W. How in hell is a friggin warhorse only T3??
The Forgeworld Tallarn roughriders are T4 2W for double the points, so at least there's that.
Dirt bikes are still my favourite, most logical conversion.
I was also thinking wardogs with cyborg enhancements for guns/lances (sort of like the cyber mastifs that the arbites use) but couldnt find any fitting models. Fenrisian wolves are a bit too big and tough looking.

I'm using Dark Elf Cold Ones for my (renegade guard) roughriders. Using the Dark Elf chain mail legs that come with them, but need to green stuff the legs and torso since the legs are rounded. They look pretty sweet ; )
Also using the DE arms, with shaved off cadian shoulder pads GS'd on top. Looks pretty good!

I started a cavalry scout ig conversionusing the space marine scout bike, the scout bike legs and cadian torso and it worked out well! I need to take a pic but I can post it here in a bit!
Also where is the long coat on the horse rider from?

You could try something like this. They were the talk of the GW that day, lots of people came to look at them, but that could be that no one had ever seen rough riders played before.
I know he made them from DE and guard bits. He said they were pretty easy to make.

Best I've seen is Cold Ones from WHFB. Big lizards with catachans on them.
Otherwise, I'd suggest bikers, extensive bionics, or something equally original.
I'm personally quite tempted by chariots, at least for the special weapon troopers.
