So.. anyone see the blurb from WGF on Facebook showing the Shadokesh and touting them nearing production?

"Mark Mondragon of Dreamforge has been hard at work sculpting the Shadokesh, which are the opposing force to the Eisenkern. Here are some sneak previews- they are getting close to heading towards production!"

I saw it, it's kind of a funny statement though.

There's 'in production', 'heading towards production'- and this one is 'getting close to heading towards production'.

So, it could be a very long wait.

Hearing that talk about legal stuff kind of makes me surprised that GW didn't try to shut down the Leviathan kit. Although to be fair, when the kickstarter had started we had no idea Knights were on the way.

Would've been pretty crazy to see.

That kit was already in development when GW took a swing at the Blockhead. I made sure it was protected in the agreement with GW, just so they did not come back later with another issue on a kit they had already seen and not objected to. Back then Pro-bono was hard to find. I now know where to go and they are local to me in San Fran.

Yep... They cannot start work on the splits until after the Chinese New Years.... they are still clearing the decks.

Any resemblance of this post to written English is purely coincidental.

As the kits get out into the wilds, some are posting up great work on one of my FB pages. I love seeing what you all come up with. The paint work, the custom builds, etc. are all things I wish I had time for... Just wanted to say thank you to everyone posting here and on FB.

I wonder if it would be easy to scrape the male face and drop in a female face?

You might need to use a dremel or pin-vice to hollow out the hood.

And I think Mantic's undead kits come with a hollow hood already, although I don't know if a woman's face would fit into it.

It might be easier to use one as a template to form a greenstuff hood over (so you're not dependant on your sculpting skills)

then put than on to your female head

This seems like a solid idea. Using one of the Black Widow heads designed for a helmet would make decent practice at least.

That is a rather simple, yet effective conversion that Mark showed. I am always amazed by how versatile the DFG kits are.

Dammit Mark, I barely resisted buying those assault troopers the first time around, this is not helping

Do it. Do it. Doooooo it.

Come to the grey side; we have unpainted plastic.

Really I'm just acting out because Mathieu now has me wanting to convert one to be a female Inquisitor, but my project queue is already way too full.

That head swap makes for an absolutely awsome figure. Looks right at home in the 40k universe as Imperial power armor that is non-Astartes in manufacture, which is something that is actually lacking in GW models.

Way ahead of you. I just need to take a decent picture. And I never thought I'd say this... but I am completely out of bolters. I have 2 left in my whole bitz box.

Now there's some motivation to start doing some of the kitbashing I was looking forward to. I'm very partial to a lot of the flavoured SM power weapons. I stocked up on Sanguiunary Guard ones, here's hoping they look as good as that head swap. Dark Angel big shields would probably match too. Oh also grabbed some GK falchions, swords and halberds, could work quite nicely. About the only thing I don't find perfect about Valkir is the weapons. Maybe painted up with nice power effects they'll be good.

That pic is awesome!

I have to build one too now!

Is the only non-stock thing in there the Dark Angel Hooded head?

And the arm is swapped from a different Valkir, and probably repositioned a bit.

DA head
Eisenkern (trooper) shoulders
Heavy backpack

Everything else should be Valkir.

(From the facebook post where I asked the build )

Can someone tell me exactly what DA kit that hooded head comes from?

Is it the Knights?

I think it is death wing. Pretty sure there is a hooded head without augmetics in that kit, but he may be screaming.

I picked some up from here. Looks like the Deathwing Command Knights, but the veterans have hooded SM helms too.

edit: Oops, Aussie ebay link. It's a US seller, Bulletbits. (This is US link)
