My Boy has said for years now that he is going to play Chaos Marines when he is old enough. For years Ive been saying, wait until your 8. Well, this past weekend, his uncle and I were playing some Warhams, and he gave Spencer a Chaos Marine I made years ago. Spencer was really happy, and said he is going to paint it like Captain America. Since he is turning 8 in January, I said go for it kiddo. I built the shield for him the other day and primed it. Other then that, all I personally did, was paint the shield and the "A" on his head, the rest was done by the lad himself.

Now it could be the father in me, but I think he did DAMN good! Granted its basically just a 2 color, 2 layer wash job, but it turned out really well. And the kid is super duper happy. I give you "Captain Chaos"

Enjoy

Not too shabby at all.

Looks like my first miniature... which I was twice his age before I painted...

That's better than my first and I was...yeah that's looking pretty good. Your little guy did a good job.

"The uniforms of the Imperial guard are camouflaged in order to protect their wearers by hiding them from sight. the principle is that what the enemy cannot see, he cannot kill. This is not the way of the Adeptus Astartes. A Space Marine's armour is bright with heraldry that proclaims his devotion to his Chapter and the beloved Emperor of Mankind. Our principle is that what the enemy can see, he will soon learn to fear." -The codex Astartes

I love that he correlates CSM with Captain America . It's a super sweet model. Though it's an easy paintjob he appears to have good brush control, which is one of those things you can't teach.
Does he have any plans moving forward? Maybe a Hulk Daemon Prince, or some Iron Man Raptors? Terminator sorcerer Thor would be awesome actually. Give him MoT, a thunder hammer, and some shooty psyker abilities... I'm doing it.

Way better than my first paint job. Great look for the model, and a nice follow through. Can't wait to see were he is in a few years.

HUH. That's pretty good, actually. My boy's 9 and doesn't have that level of brush control, sadly.

And The Hulk should be a spawn - all that sudden and violent mutation, you know.

No, he definitely did the model, minus the very few things I did. I sat next to him and coached him, but that was all him. Again, its a couple layers of washes I made up, but still, he did an awesome job. As far as how he wants the rest of his army, I couldnt tell ya, the kid is crazy and cant keep his mind made up for more then 2 minutes. And of course I let him pick Chaos, I told him when he wants his own army, he should play what he thinks is cool first, and thats what he picked. Im not going to say no because they are bad guys and murder for fun

Hey King, first off..very awesome job by your son. it's great to see alot of father /son time going on in our world of table top gaming. My own boy is just turned 4, and for his birthday all he wanted was space marine stuff.. So after getting the biggest nerf bolter looking gun i could find and painting it up, giving him a squad and half of 3rd edition marines a skimmer and a dread or two..he has now moved onto painting.. yes he is only 4, but we use it more as a teaching tool for numbers , colors shapes and grouping patterns and such. Hope it isn't hijacking your own thread but id like to throw a pick up of his firs painting. he has already become a smaller member of our local club, and i cannot wait until he day he can actually play 40k with me.

I have to agree, excellent Cpt. America! The colors of the shield are perfect!

And yes, that is leagues better than many of the models I see painted by adults at the local store.
