I have been working on some of the Koptas that come with Black Reach and about a year later I have actually done something with them.

I would like to get some feedback. I feel like maybe some of these changes are a bit OTT even for orks.

*Note on the Kopta with the barrel on the top I am planning on having the wire end up being smoke so still WIP.

I stole some of the ideas from this - http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/479875.page (His are better )

I like the one with the Kan drill best. The extra tail pipes looks nice.

First things first..."OVER THE TOP" does not exist in an orks (limited) vocabulary XD...Haha... I like them! The kustom flying stands i think will look really good when they are done :3. How did you do those booster effects with that rocket?

I like the weapon/exhaust/etc. conversions, but these are generally too implausible for my tastes, if not outright over the top. Even in the orky frame of mind, I just can't see most of them flying. I think the first kopta would work far better with more surface area to the wings (the rotor blades might work for stabilizing fins, but they're too weedy for wings, on their own). The last one doesn't appear to have any means of lift, at all. The middle one, however, works just fine, as it keeps the standard kopta rotors in place as a plausible way of keeping aloft (for a while ).

Whether they be grav plates, down-facing jets, (bigger) wings... anything that hints at their ability to stay off the ground, aside from their physical position, would help. That's my take, at least. Character-wise, they already fit the bill.

With the booster effect I am not sure if you mean the rocket being shot out - That is just an armorcast rocket I bought. If you are meaning the thing I am going to do with the barrel I am just going to glue on some clump foliage and paint it.

Yeah I agree with you cause I mean they would basically never be able to land... That is why I was thinking of scrapping some of the ideas or maybe adding something extra to help the so called plausability but I may end up painting them and see how they look then and if I am not happy I will strip them and start over.

I like em - might restructure a bit to provide more lift, but thats why they invented Green Stuff.

Ahhh well, as oadie said, they do look a tad unstable, even more than regular orky engineering. Maybe cut off the skids on the bottom to make more room?

Wait, these are Ork flying machines we're talking about right? I don't think they have to look like they function then cause won't the Orks combined belief in the functionality make them work?
