I bought this model last October and spent over a month building the beast before burning out and leaving it for 10 months. This past month I've revisited the project and completed it. It's the biggest thing I've ever painted and as you can see from the picture below I'm use to painting big models!

I love that - it's the first picture I've seen that makes me want a thunderhawk. Love the well executed Ultras paintjob and the white stripe breaks it up perfectly.

Any secrets behind those massive bases? Did you cut them out of wood and then varnished and based them? Everything looks gorgeous! Keep us posted.

Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers. |

Gorgeous! I absolutely love the vibrant colors you're using. The racing stripe is a nice touch too! The base is pleasant, and I'm surprised you were able to find a clear rod able to support the big monster. For any of you on the fence about visiting the blog linked in the OP - go for it! The extra angles of the Thunderhawk are worth it

Great paint job and modelling, I find that the Thunderhawk is often regrettably chunky but the way you've done this one makes it look very cool indeed. Love the Harridan's paint scheme as well by the way, makes me want one even more!
