Hey everyone!

I'll be converting my newly bought Hyperion from Privateer Press with LEDs and with other bits and pieces that will make Hyperion lore friendly to Warmachine and the Retribution of Scyrah!

Here's the first batch of pictures, right out of the box:

So I was going around sites and stuff looking for other LED projects and found this amazing gem!

http://privateerpressforums.com/showthread.php?80253-Menoth-Vessel-of-Judgment-Battle-engine-progress-log

I noted that the battery was going to be big (9v for PG_menelker), but I'll have it disguised most likely as a piece of terrain on the base; it'll also be removable to change the batteries (in the futuuuuure!).

Awesome. I just got my Hyperion as well and wanted to something similar with an LED.

Ok. Here's what going to happen when the drilling starts:

First image shows where I'm going to cut and drill to make room for the components (which will be on the lower chassis).

In addition to the above image, I'll be drilling into the shoulder socket to access the vents on the other side; I'll use a drummel to cut down from the vents to the cavity created by the drill. Also, this the chamber which the LED will reside.

This image shows how far down, to side, and forward I'll be drilling into the lower chassis. This is where the main component of the LED system will stay.

Last one. This guy shows how big the hole will be.

There miiiight be some issues about support after I'm done. The obvious answer to that is to support, if needed be, the arms with and the over-exaggerated shoulders with pins.

Another update, but more like a mini update. Here's what I've done so far:

I had to file down the joint for a better looking Hyperion (else it'll be squatting on its hunches). There is also a pin drilled at the top to place some support rods to further stabilize Hyperion.

I green stuffed the socket for the leg in order for the newly adjusted joint on said leg to fit properly.

Ashamed.
I am ashamed.
What a mess I've made.
GREEN STUFF GO! Gonna have to figure out another way to slice through grooves for LED light to shine through.

Sorry about the angle. Here's the beginning of the hole where the LED will be stored. I will be fleshing it out deeper and wider.

Final look at how the new leg is doing. More clearance!
