Interesting. The paint application looks very thick and opaque, but the finish is smooth. The layers are all distinct, but their placement is good. Together with the stark black-lining, it lends them an almost cell-shaded look. I might pick any one of those points as a criticism, if isolated, but when they come together I rather like the effect. Nice work.

As always, they look much nicer in person, and I agree with your points, but they result as a whole is very pleasing. The client is very excited to get them, which is always the goal.
