Some seriously cool stuff here. I particularly like the green accents you've been using throughout; it's subtle enough to not overpower the scheme, but pervasive enough to tie the force together.

Is the parchment made from paper with printed images? What's your process for preparing and weathering it? Any concerns about durability? I like the way it looks, and is particularly fitting for the Word Bearers, but I'd be afraid of it ripping all the time,

I am making the banners on Photoshop and then printing and cutting them out. It's on regular paper but after I wash it with sepia it's able to be shaped and durable. So far no tears. I would like to use sturdier paper stock on the future to prevent this though.

I'm surprised how well the Helldrakes Head suits the Forgefiend. It looks much better than the original heads in comparison! Nice miniatures across the board, the painting is solid, and the conversions are good too. I think my favorite has to be the banner bearer. Just to movement in the miniatures banner is beautiful, and he's a very characterful piece. Subbed

Really liking the look of these Word Bearers mate. Those printed parchments and scrolls are ace! They really complement the models and fit the Word Bearer theme of things perfectly!

Your alpha squad flag bearer is awesome! How did you do all of those scrolls? Printed paper and a bit of diluted Elmer's glue?

I used printer paper and I used Photoshop to design the scrolls. Lets you make small, high-def printing pretty easily and then I used the cutting board at the local Kinkos (or...Fedex Kinkos?). I then took some sepia wash and, while it dried, positioned it and glued it into place. When the wash dried it actually worked as a molding agent.

Thanks for your patience, Mickhedd. Right after I posted the question I saw

Working on the Wyvern pattern Forgefiend. Some paints so far. For the daemon flesh it's bone white right now and will have blends of Cadian and warp fiend fleshtones in later stages

Still working on some painting. In the meantime I created my third Heldrake using a DA Nephilim. Wanted to show a drake in mid-mutation, before it becomes more draconic.

Really liking the third Heldrake.

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

You've got a nice looking army here.

Quick question about the exhaust pipes on the Forgefiend - did they come with the model, or are they a conversion? I really like the look of them.

Everything on that model came in the box except the head, which came from a Heldrake.
