What started out as a crazy stupid idea turned into an army one day. I present the Sons of Mexico or Meximarines! Meant as a humerus patriotic take on marines from south of the border it has taken far more time than I care to admit to get it to this early stage. I still have to go back and do a ton of touch up on the painted stuff and I still haven't even gotten enough models to hit a 1000pt force so that to needs more time and energy. Just thought I'd show off what little is done so far.
The whole army is magnetically mounted inside of a guitar case (which still needs a tone of interior and exterior work). The purity seal is hand made and magnetized so it currently purifies the refrigerator making sure our food is free of the chaos taint. This army is not meant to offend anyone however I do understand that the horrible camera work may offend many eyes...
I like the idea. I had something like this done for my first army. Aztec numbering on the pads, tanks all had Aztec icons. One of the Demolishers had the Aztec symbol for death.
I really liked it. This one, I believe could use less of the hats and comic relief and more of just paint, symbols and such using Mexican colors/icons. I think it would look better.
Either way, I applaud your efforts, and I do like the paint job.
I dont even know what to say about this..... until you add the eagle with a cactus these are sons of italy who for some reason wear sombreros

I swear I think those two have a hate-crush on each other sometimes.
I see your point there. Still have lots of work to do on the painting and still trying to figure out the best way to get the Mexican seal on there. The larger stuff isn't so hard but the shoulder pads.... custom decals?
wow..... ive seen some bad movies but that...... that has to top my list

Then you haven't seen Zombie Lake... Its so bad its bad and has no redeeming features, other than the naked swimming scene at the start (it's French, after all).
Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!
I do plan on some homage models from those movies of course but I have to get the boring stuff out of the way first or I never will get to the fun ones...
Still working on fixing up what is already painted and converting the flying mariachi assault marines thanks for the feedback!
I did a quick attempt at the Mexican seal on the shoulder pad. Thought I would start small and work up the the bigger and somewhat easier ones. Definitely not happy with how it turned out yet any good hints on painting 2d images that small or is it just better to get custom decals made?
PS totally aware of some of the other mistakes on the model such as green hitting places it shouldn't be and some neatness cleanup just testing some things out before hitting the rest of the army.
Also an early pic of the flying mariachi assault marines. Not looking forward to sculpting tiny little guitars so if anyone knows of a place that sells appropriately scaled ones I'd certainly be interested...
