Let's be honest, Lootas are expensive (£15 for 4 is a joke, reguardless of whether you get burna bitz, they should be in separate boxes of 8/10) And I need 30 of them, I'm on a budget, so I can't fork out over £100 on them, so does anyone know how I could be able to convet the Deffgunz? I was thinking about Big Shootas but not sure if they'd work. I need a way which could easily separate them from Big Shoota Boyz aswell, any help with pics would be appreciated.

Cheers

How many other random guns can you blag off your friends? The normal deffgunz models are a weird amalgamation of all sorts of things, so just do the same thing.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

Well, I found these and have a lot of Ork Legs/Heads/Bodies spare, so it's really just the guns and arms I'm looking for, and at £1.50 each just for a Deffgun that's going to cost quite a bit, so I wouldn't mind doing some work with plasticard even if it took a look of time as I often have time to kill over the weekends etc. I saw these and wondered how much cheaper they could be, I have some backpacks that I could use and there's a few Devastator ones I could use, I also haven't done much with plasticard and wondered if it was doable?

Cheers

So long as they're heavy weapon sized, look very shooty and obviously aren't big shootas or rokkits, you can do pretty much anything. Your examples above are good. You can also use heavy weapons looted from other races, so long as you orkerise them with rivets and orky bits (mostly to avoid any 'what's that ork holding a plasma cannon?' confusion). Your above example uses backpacks - these aren't essential, although certainly modelling some source of ammo or power is a good idea.

Have a look at the standard GW models - the weapons are mostly just cobbled together bits of other races' weapons, and that is the whole point of lootas after all

Find imperial friends who have extra imperial weapons. Most of the vehicle kits come with guns designed for vehicles. The sentinel comes with almost every weapon type.

Pretty much any vehicle-bound heavy weapon can be put in the hands of a shoota boy and look good the way GoDz BuZzSaW's photo shows. Remember lootas can be lascannons, plasmacannons, assault cannons, Meltas, multimeltas, scatterlasers, starcannons, railguns and so on. pretty much everything that isn't a rocket or heavy bolter.

it is pretty easy to convert the orks to hold underslug heavy weapons. All you need is AoBR torsos, shoota boy arms and heavy weapons.

Get spare vehicle weapons. that should solve your problem.

The picture posted probably cost more than what you had to pay for normally since the plasticard and conversion parts probably gonna cost alot.

If you're not planning on using the burna bits, another good way is just to chop off the ends of the burnas, and replace it with a couple plasticard tubing to make deffgunz that are strapped to their shoulders.

Good point - with some detailing to change the burna tanks into power packs, and some sort of ray run thingy replacing the burna nozzle, and of course some generic boyz bits, they'd make quick and easy loota conversions.
