Ideas? bleached bone or others? I'm still looking for a decent color scheme for jungle nids. Pics?

So that red/yellow is your colour scheme for the carapace?

I'm therefore assuming you don't want a camouflage scheme (unless you fight amongst red/yellow plants ). I would go for a contrasting natural colour, either light (e.g. bleached bone as you've said) or a dark brown or maybe grey, in either case washed with a darker shade.

What about a molten planet? I was just curious about options on the skin.

I would go and find pics of real life insects, find one that you like and use that as a base for your paint sceme.

This for anything Jungly. Unless you want them to be fully camoflaged, go with ideas from jungle frogs, insets, birds, or predators.

The colour scheme of my Tyranids is natural colours but from a dryer planet. Maybe it is inspirational (see sig for details):

If you want to do that hive fleet kraken hive tyrant then the color is screaming skull. and you can highlight it with white scar if you are going for more quiality.

I have a tutorial on Hive Fleet Kraken but not for HQ models you can watch it on the link below

Do you have any other tutorials for other colors? Or what goes well with a more greenish carapace? Great video btw. Super easy and understandable

Kroothawk- That's gotta be one of the best color schemes I've seen for the bugs yet!

Thank you I appreciate it. Well I don't have much experience painting tyranids. But I have seen that usually a good paintjob for tyranids is bright skin and dark caparace. If you want to do a contrast for green the first answer would be red, but you don't want it too look chrismasy so what you do is darken one color an brithen the other with white and black. example would be Bright red (pink) with dark green or bright green (mint) with dark red (mahogany). It also works with other colors if you know the color chart. you can take your green color and the complement would be red, but you can also use it's neighbors which are orange and purple. So If you are going for bright green I would say you can contrast it with Brown (dark orange), Dark Red, or Dark Purple.

If you go for Dark green good contrast would be Beige or bone color (bright orange), Bright red (Pink), or Bright purple such as Slaanesh grey or warpfiend purple.

Don't take my word.. but I think that's the way it works, I would recommend you to do some testing on a pallet, put those colors together and see if you like them and let me know what you think. I may be wrong about this tho.

I don't have any more tyranid tutorials because I just started on making videos, but maybe in the future when I get more miniatures I could make a tutorial for that.

I hope this was comprehensible enough and helped. Thanks for your support, and good luck

Alan

Well, I can't help much more than this really, because ultimately this decision is yours, not ours. Here's my own nids, which I kind of relate to the planet Pandora from the movie Avatar. I need more dots and stripes and such, but I think I've got a good start xD

Please excuse my absolutely terrible photos, Some are taken with a camera, but then that died. So my cell had to fill in for the job.

Otherwise, here's a few links for some possible ideas to toss into your mixing pot:

All else I can say is take the advice given earlier. Look at the natural flora and fauna of the environment you want to incorporate into your scheme, and relate that into it.
eg:

Good luck
