These are some pics of a DA model that came with the basic 40k paint set. I'm using them to test out paint schemes for my Eldar army. Yes. I primed them white and then based with Ushati Bone, trim in obvious Coors before washing in Agrax Earthshade. Aside from needing a bit of touchup, would you consider this to be a TT ready paintjob? What do you think about it for Eldar Gaurdians?

This is my first attempt at painting and I like the look so far. I don't want to screw up a fair-enough thing but what do you more experienced fellows think? What should I be doing to punch it up a notch? I know the shoulder pads need some highlights and I was planning on doing the arrow in red to pop a bit.

Gaurdians would be similar in the base and trim work colors with the helmet being green.

EDIT: And appearently I missed that big white spot on the side of his helmet...

I think it looks really pretty good. First of all, I really like the scheme. Always liked the white and green craftworld (can't remember what it was called, beil tan?). This just looks a little more earthy. Like it. Keep it as simple as possible, simplicity really suits eldar.

For a bit of advice I'd suggest, just going a little easier on the wash, try get it a bit more even. Maybe a little white/bone mix to pick out some subtle highlights after the wash.

Green looks pretty good. Again with regards to simplicity, I would say less is more. I'd stick to the helmet and a couple of little accent pieces. For example, on this marine I would've left the kneepads bone coloured.

Also, follow the GW technique for red space marine eyes, its not too difficult and makes a big difference.

As for whether it's TT ready, I would say do a bit of work on the base and yes, it's tabletop ready.

So, yeh, it's looking good. For your first mini it's looking very, very good indeed. A great start. Best of luck. Lets us see some of your Eldar when you get round to them.
