Hi all

I finished an aegis defense line for my Nurgle army this weekend.

It is made from layers of laser-cut cardboard that has had some small nurgly embellishments added.

I started with this kit and then added some 100s&1000s and some rivets.

The rivets were shaved from styrene rod.

For painting, I followed this excellent guide for rust from DavidLoweDesign I found on youtube.

**Edit**: I put more pictures up on my blog here: http://nothingunpainted.blogspot.com/2012/11/chaos-barricade-set-complete.html

Kind regards
Neal

I love it. I was trying to think of an inexpensive way to do something similar. Are the pieces the same size as the GW aegis defense line?

If so, I could get one for my Necron force and Necronize it

Thanks for the kind words.

Firstly, it is exactly the same size and same number of pieces as the GW one.

Secondly, no need to customise it for your necrons.... not when there is this:

or the slightly cheaper:

on offer

Was that an hour and a half of work or does Smuttynose do an extra strong IPA?

Hi

This is not saying much but it is way stronger than finecast of similar size. The defense line is made from 3 layers of card. I also made some shipping containers that were 3 layers of card and did a strength test on them. bear in mind that the containers are a lot bigger and so have more flex per unit length.

I drop a drop of superglue onto the thin parts like the spikes on some of them and this soaks into the cards and gives them a feeling of plastic - so I would say they are strong enough.

Cheers
Neal
