Thanks , will try to update a litle more than what I manage so far......

How are you doing the blue glows?

The blue glow is done whit the greyknight osl and snow base tut here on dakka as a start, but I tweaked it a litle. Mostly by only using my airbrush on the actual glow on the marine (think it was only 2 shades there) and rest whit regular brush and real thin paint, dry brush on the actual coil.... Hope it helps

Great tip for painting OSL is to varnish your model whit a varnish like dealer rowney varnis. Then you can erase whit white spirit if you not happy how it looks
(if you use Gw or vallejo type varnish the white spirit will eventualy eat through it)

Amazing art! Those DA are probably the coolest and grim darkest I've ever seen.
How long are you already painting? Such prowess with osl is speaking volumes...

I love the green on the dark angels, I'd use it more for raptors though as I think DA should be.....darker.

My DA left the darker armor and robes at the rock when they where done whit the parades and other mumbo jumbo. Jumped in the camo green and no silly things stuck on them (poles and what not) armour and shiped out for vraaks and other war zones

Thank you, real nice compliments.
I starded painting 4 years ago, had a summer break everey year for a couple of months (you lose a lot of skills when your not at it all the time) But always find my way back when it start to get dark outside all my free time....
Here´s how I started

And this is 2:nd year figs

Thanks

Theophony: Hope I didnt sounded to much of a duche whit that answer and that you noticed the wink in the end. You whernt that of whit the raptors statement I had their fluff in fresh memory when I planed my DA. My take on the DA , and all chapersfor that matter is that it must be so inpractible whit robes and other bling in combat that the chapters just has it for show and cermonies to enthuse new recruits.

Due to some personal problems, my head is full so nothing happens when i sit down in my painting area for the time being. Hope to have things sorted out asap so i can paint some models. Whant to paint up my puppetswar troopers as training for the AvP miniatures to come

Thanks, the trick is to watch and read a lot of tutorials and browsing CMON a lot. My first step from blocking in colors to more advanced painting was to watch Les Bursleys youtube vids (the first one i watched was the dark angel tut) Didn´t use the same colors he did but aproached it in the same way. A god tip from said Bursley was to hold the mini straight under a lamp and watch where the light fals and where the real shadows are.

Thanks cam!

The force is growing in slowmo speed, but I got tons of stuff unpainted for it...

Zone tile project is at a halt and the spartan scenic project is the major project atm... With the rhino just completed the FW predator is wery temting to start

A pic of the rhino "over weathered" before I took it of....
