Hello Dakka!

After a good few months of reading every P&M thread I could find whilst away with work I am finally home and can contribute my own! I have only got back into 40k in the last 6 months after a 7 year break! I initially bought some grey knights and was straight away hooked on the hobby again (grown up bank balance helps too)!

I bought DV before I left as a look forward to once I was home and today I opened her up and made a start. Pics will follow once I work out how! C&C welcome and wanted!

Cheers, Ben

Sorry about the image orientation, they were uploaded from my phone, where they are the right way up! Will sort it as soon as I get access to my PC.

I don't know if you can get MS Picture Manager, I think that's part of MS Office? I don't know, I actually don't have it myself, but you don't need it to rotate images, there's plenty of tools that do it and are available freely. What operating system? GIMP image editor is free and works on Windows or Linux. The built in picture viewer in Windows (Windows Photo Viewer) will let you rotate images quite easily. I think they've had it since Windows XP. I can't speak for Mac and it's OS, but I assume it has some tools that can do it free as well.

Mate, my tech lingo lacks everything. The only words I recognise are windows and Mac. But thats for the advice. Now for some google-fu.

I have just noticed if you click the images you are taken to a bigger version which is the correct orientation, so if I rotate the originals then this bigger version will become sideways... anyone know a fix?

I am somewhat scared of starting the hellbrute, think I will leave that until after I learn to paint the Chosen.

The deathwing termies are next. I will try and do some more comprehensive photos of them, need to build a lightbox first though!

Hello Dakka!

Well, not too much progress this week due to other commitments, however, one Deathwing Terminator is complete.

Hope you enjoy the 360 photos.

Cheers, Ben

The contrast between the brown of the armor and the white of the highlight is really, really sharp. I would suggest either a darker highlight color or a light armor color (your pick).

Also, you might try a light highlight on the reds.

Other than those nits that I picked, it's looking really good.

Hmmm, dont think I would be keen to redo those highlights with a darker white, they took forever!

I do agree with what you are saying though, might have to give it a go on the others. The red is actually highlighted with a lighter red layer but it doesn't show very well, I'm thinking of highlighting it with an orange instead. What effect would glazing it have?

Ok so it took a long old time but I finally finished the Deathwing. Well, almost, the power sword still needs to be painted, any ideas?

All C&C welcome.

Cheers!

I think a rich purple for the sword., or white. A "glowing" white but that might be impossible.

Great work all around! Love the Deathwing. I agree, I think purple for the sword would give a nice contrast.
