my bro just got bored of his spacewolves so he gave me his SWs. he is now concentrating on tyranids.
so i am repainting his army, and i started with the brother valencio model from spacehulk. i will be using him for now as a BA captain with termy armour and chainfist.

Wow. You need to use less paint on the brush, bro. All of that gorgeous detail is completely obscured by the gobs of paint.

Get yourself a palette. A wet palette is best and you can make one really easily - mine is just a shallow plastic box (I think it probably had chocolates in originally!) with folded paper towels soaked in water on the bottom and a layer of parchment paper on top. You can then put a dollop of paint on the palette and thin it a little to get the perfect consistency. The wet paper towels underneath will stop the paint from drying out.If you think you have too much paint on your brush just wipe off the excess. It's better to have too little than too much - you can always add more paint to your model but it's not so easy to get off!

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far, away...

As said by peebs, a wet palette would be a great start - keep the paints thinned down. Check the tutorial section as well, theres some really useful content in there, here's one specifically on making a wet palette... http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/432312.page#3957370

er... I know this was meant to be a WIP blog, but i kinda went paint crazy over the weekend, and painted everything but my drop pod. me and my brother, with nothing but one brush between the two of us (& a drybrush) painted 1173 pts of BA with an allied contingent of SW. to an acceptable standard for noobs at painting as well. i also redid the base of valencio
