Pregame
Spoiler:
Purge the Alien, Dawn of War (again?!).

Nightfight was in effect turn 1.

Warlord traits:
Eldar: Vanguard – extra run
Chaos: Master of Defense – counter charge when in DZ

Any lakes on the map were calm.

Eldar powers: Guide

The forest on the hill was a Spinethorn (+2 Sv VS grenades)

Eldar rolled higher and chose to go first.

Terrain and objectives:
4x4 map.

Eldar deployment and plan:
The Eldar chose the table side with the high floor factories, primarily for good LoS and an area to deploy the scouts in out of ground level reach.
The Wraithguard and Warlock were used a second line defense, they would hold the hedgerow at the lakes and hold it.
The Avatar and Wraithlords would push forward and try and control the central table to force Chaos to the flanks.
The Weapon batteries deployed well out of LoS to try and neutralise the Havoks.

Chaos deployment and plan:
The Havoks took the bunker for a good cover save and LoS. The three Rhinos all deployed on the left flank to try and rush the Pfs as soon as possible and engage them.
The Spwan would try and stay behind the Rhinos as support and the Helldrake reserved.
The idea was to try and avoid the Avatar and WLs and focus down the Pfs/SWBs and Farseer.
Havoks would hopefully neutralise a WL or two.

Chaos failed to sieze and the game began.

Eldar turn 1.
Movement:
The WLs and Avatar moved/ran towards the right flank to try and intercept the Rhinos.
Both the Pfs and Farseer held their positions.
The Wraithguard also moved/ran to take up a more central position.

Shooting:
The Farseer cast guide on the Support weapon battery who duely shot the Havoks in the bunker. Coupled with barrage guide they scored 8 hits but with Nightifhgt in play they saved all hits. The Pfs were out of range.

Spoiler:

Chaos turn 1.
Movement:
All three Rhinos moved flat out to close on the Eldar. The Spawn ran to keep up with them.

Shooting:
The Havoks opened up on the Wraithguard and with no cover to hide behind, killed 3.

Eldar turn 2.
Movement:
The Wraithguard moved/ran behind the factory for cover and out of LoS.

Spoiler:

Both WLs moved into charge range of the Rhinos whilst the Avatar broke off to go after the first Spawn.

Shooting:
Guide was cast agian on the SWB. It fired again on the Havoks scoring 9 hits this time and killed 3. They passed their morale check however.
The first PF unit then opened up on the Hacoks also killing another one. The other two units had no LoS to them however and couldnt pen the Rhinos/see the Spawns.

Hand to hand:
The Avatar then charged the Spawn causing one wound on it for no loss. It held however due to fearless.

Spoiler:

WL #1 charged the first Rhino, cauing 4 pens and exploded it. The nearby Spawn took another wound from the explosion and two Noise Marines also died but they passed their morale and pinning check.

WL #2 then charged the second Rhino and exploded it also. No casulaties were caused though.

Chaos turn 2..
Movement:
The Helldrake failed to arrive from reserve.
The 4 man Noise Marine unit moved towards the first unit of Pfs in the factory. The 6 man unit held its ground to try and maximise its shots. The last remaining Rhino moved far up on the left flank to try and outflank the Pfs. The second Spawn followed it.

Shooting:
The Havoks shot the first WL causing one wound on it. All of the Noise Marines then fired on the third PF squad who went to ground. They took two casualties but passed their morale check.

Hand to hand:
The Avatar/Spawn fight yielded no wounds from either side.

At the end of turn 2 it was:

Spoiler:
Eldar 3
First blood
Chaos 1
Linebreaker

Eldar turn 3.
Movement:
The wounded WL moved towards the 4 man Noise Marine unit to intercept them.
The second WL then moved towrds the remaining Rhino to try and charge it.

Both the Wraithguard and Warlock shuffled into LoS of the 4 man NM unit too.

Shooting:
Guide was again cast successfully on the SWB.
It again targetted the Havoks, scoring 4 wounds this time but luckily all of them saved.
Both the WL and WG then shot the 4 man NM unit recudng them to two.

Spoiler:

All 3 PF squads then shot the 6 man unit of Noise Marines and killed 2 of them.

Hand to hand:
The first WL charged the last Rhino, taking one wound on overwatch from the Doom Siren but wrecking it.

The second WL then charged the 2 man NM unit and wiped them out consolidating towards its comrade.
The Avatar and Spawn again failed to wound each other.

Chaos turn 3..
Movement:
The Helldrake again failed to arrive from reserve.
The Noise Marines fro the last wrecked Rhino and Lord moved into the factory building for a charge this turn.

The last Spawn moved to attack the Pathfinders.

Shooting:
The Havoks targetted the wounded WL and killed him, having no cover.

Hand to hand:
The Chaos Warlord and Noise Marines multicharged the Wraithguard/Warlock and support weapon battery/Farseer unit.
They took no overwatch wounds. Amazingly the Farseer caused 2 wonds on the Chaos Lord for no reply. The Nms then caused one wond on the SWB crew and one on the Warlock. They took no wounds in return and the combat was a tie.

Spoiler:

The Spawn then charged the 4 man PF unit, each side causing a wound each, it was tied.

The Avatar finally killed off the second Spawn and consolidated towards the factory.

Eldar turn 4.
Movement:
The remaining WL and Avatar both moved/ran deeper into the factory.

Shooting:
The unengaged Pfs fired again on the Havoks, killing one but he passed morale.

Hand to hand:
The Wraithlord charged the Noise Marine combat. Striking first the Chaos Lord caused one wound on the Farseer and the Nms another on the SWB crew.
However the Wraithlord killed 3 marines in combat and the SWB crew luckly caused another. Chaos lost by 2 but held due to Fearless.
The Spawn killed one Pf but they were now fearless themselves due to the Avatars proximity.

Chaos turn 4..
Movement:
Finally the Helldrake arrived and Zoomed to target the unengaged PF unit #1.

The 6 man Noise Marine unit moved 6” to get within range of the Pfs too.

Shooting:
The NM killed one PF from unit #1 whilst the Helldrake targetted them too, wiping them out with torrent.

Hand to hand:
Not a single wound was caused between every odel in the large melee and combat was tied.
The Spawn killed another Pathfinder however, one was left.

Eldar turn 5.
Movement:

The Avatar moved closer again to the factory ready to charge.

Shooting:
The last unengaged Pf unit shot the Noise Marines near the hill and killed one.

Hand to hand:
With the Avatar charing into the combat, the Eldar wiped out the last NM but the Chaos Lord could cause no wounds. Chaos lost again but held.
The Spawn killed the last PF and consolidated as best it could.

Chaos turn 5..
Movement:
None!

Shooting:
The Havoks, Helldrake and Noise Marines all shot the last PF unit and killed two but they held due to fearless.

Hand to hand:
The Avatar bellowed a challenge to the Chaos Lord and duely decapitated him ending that melee.

The dice rolled and another turn ensued.

Eldar turn 6.
Movement:
The Eldar shuffled about slightly.

Shooting:
With no LoS the Pfs could not target anything.

Hand to hand:
The Avatar and WL both charged the last Spawn to be sure of the kill and wiped him out.

Chaos turn 6..
Movement:
The Helldrake went to Hover mode and moved to try and kill the last WG for a point.

Shooting:

It obliged nicely and wiped the last WG out.

With that the game concluded.

Final score:

Spoiler:
Eldar 10
(3 x Rhinos, 2 x Nms, 2 x Spawn, Warlord)
First blood, Slay the Warlord
Chaos 5
(2 x PF units, WL, WG)
Line breaker

Nice report, good to see a smaller board in use. Thanks for posting it!

Thanks Briancj
Yeah its fun to play on the smaller boards sometimes, tighter, less space and more dirty!

Been playing a lot of 1k games in 6th of late and really enjoying them so far.
