Ok these are a few of my tyranids I've painted. I went with a simple biel tan green wash and some red eyes. It is really easy to paint models like this but I feel like I'm missing something. Anyone have any extra color suggestions?

They do look cool but you're right they are missing come colour. Based on the white theme I would set them in a snow type setting so colours/shades like blue, black, grey or even dark greens should all mesh well. That is just my opinion.

I would colour the armour and claws for starters to make them stand out more. To be honest I barely noticed these were really painted.

You need some contrast in colour for the weapons/blades/teeth etc. Maybe colour the armour plates too prehaps?

Its a nice base colour, but you need more! I dont think they would even count as being painted in official tournaments.

Hmmm very interesting - have you got an overall army shot to see how it looks en masse?

I think it would be cool if you paint the shields in a different colour. Then it would look really nice.

Perhaps you could do the carapaces in black, with red feathered highlights?

Meh, go with the "Ghost Nids" concept. It reminds me of a recurring nightmare I had years ago. Sort of a combination of Aliens, Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, and Ghost Ship.

If you do decide to eh, materialize them I'd do the carapace black with green highlights on it. Then you could also hit the exposed muscle bits with black wash and call it a day.

I think that they look really cool. They may look a little bland against the plain backgrounds, but on a table of decent terrain, maybe city or ash waste or something, they will really pop. I say leave them as they are. Very unique!
