so i have started an inquisitor warband to play in necromunda i have decided to have an interrogater as my leader, a tech adept and possibly down the line an ogryn thug and some sort of sniper as a hired gun/recruit.

so my first completed member is my tech adept made from a Cairn Wraith. other bits i used were wires from some ork guns and piece, a filed down and shaped tau head, the backpack from a techpriest enginseer, the left hand is from the stormvermin set and the right hand is a combination of a marauders hand and some plastic rod holding a space marine banner. along with lots of green stuff and purity seals.

next up is my inquisitor in power armor made from the new warriors of chaos champion he isnt quit finished yet some smoothing out to do on the greenstuff a bit more sculpting on the cape and a load of purity seals to add/ sculpt. oh and also resculpt the skulls head on the shoulder pad and add an inquisitor symbol to it.

The tech adept is very grimdark, I love it. Its some kind of ghastly automaton that drifts behind the inquisitor silently save for clicks and whirls of gears and such, ignored unless its needed. I really love dark servitor models like that, really shows how not fun it would be to live in the 40k universe.

I also like that model for your inquisitor base, he has kind of a regal/proud bearing. Just make sure you dechaosify him or the rest of the inquisitors are gonna brand him radical and make with the purging!

Really cool stuff, love characterful warbands like this.

I like the Inquisitor, he's huge, and effortlessly imposing. I really want pick one up myself, but I don't really know what I'd do with it!

Very nice! I haven't played Necromunda, but it sure gives a good opportunity to make conversions and kit bash.

The ability to kit bash and make really characterful models is one of my favorite things about our hobby, and yours are an excellent example of doing it well.

im actually playing him as a radical that's why i went for that model and left the daemon head shoulder and arm guard as they are and im also gonna use some xeno tech in my warband thinking a big game hunter with a pulse rifle

Ahh ok then, in that case I'd say he's looking pretty fearsome. It seems most inquisitors slide towards radical the more they learn.
I'm gonna have to keep checking this out, love high-detail small warbands like this.

We have a piece of that hexagon set at our local game store, Ken, but it's glued together. Before now, I never knew where it came from, even.

Nice job on the mini conversions.

As for Hexagon...
I'm sorry to say that if you're going to paint the hexagon, you probably need to glue it together. Otherwise you're going to have unpainted bits where the clips go. Also, the pressure required to unclip things is likely going to mess up your paint job over time.

Also, I found that the charm of taking apart and rebuilding hexagon/platformer/chemical plant kits wears thin after a while. my advice is to spend a week trying different things and then glue it together, base it, paint it and move on to another project.

Here's what I did with mine. The base has since been repainted.

The bunker doors in the rock face are platformer kit pieces.

That tech-adept has got 40K written all over it, the design could easily have come from official artwork. Inspirational stuff!

Driven away from WH40K by rules bloat and the expense of keeping up, now interested in smaller model count games and anything with nifty mechanics.

yeah it does require a lot of effort to really make stuff out of it hahahah, but i'm gonna get a few more sets and use it so it can be changed every few games so might just leave it unpainted.

anyway after a few hours playing with it this is what i made

Nice work with your hexagon stuff. Maybe a medium would be to make smaller modular sections that can be rearranged. With only a few more pieces, the structure above could consist of :

-Raised Platform
-Tower
-Squarish building section
-Big Chemical tank.

Then you could rearrange them for every battle.

so new member of the warband my ogryn bodyguard. i have even started to right up a bit off fluff for him

basically the ogryn was part of an imperial guard detachment that was supporting the inquisitor on a mission to find a rogue psyker, during the last phases of the mission the the commissar that led the ogryns unit was killed and told the ogryn to guard the inquisitor with his last breath.

during the battle between the inquisitor and the psyker, the heretic unleashed a massive bolt of warp energy, the ogryn obeying his last order pushed the inquisitor out of the energy bolts path and was hit instead.

impressed by his dim-witted loyalty the inquisitor orderd the mechanicus adept to fix him up. the adept rebuilt the ogryn with extensive bionics.

upon awakening the ogryn was horrorfied by his new body, but indebted to the inquisitor became fiercely loyal to him. afraid of undergoing the attentions of the mechanicus adept again he built himself armour to cover his remaining flesh and now serves as the inquisitors bodyguard.

so to start with i had chopped up and re-positioned the left leg then filled in the gap with greenstuff resculpting the folds in the cloth as well.

next up i built a bionic arm for him from the arm of a deffdread, next i used a left over autocannon that i cut down the barrel of for his ripper gun.

i then greenstuffed all the other components (bionic eyes, and his left side armour)

and here he is the finished article, oh and i filled down the maw off the gut plate and added an imperial eagle.

i thought the bionic arm was a little plain so i went back and added an ammo feed to the ripper gun and a few purity seals i also added a couple of purity seals around the model.

so some new additions to the warband first up is a sniper type guy that will just be a ganger with a long las

i started by making the long las its just a lasgun with an elongated barrel and a space marine scope,

then his body is the crouching cadian legs and a empire militia armoured torso, with the cadian sargent head

next up is another ganger with a flamer i used empire free company legs a goblin torso that i shaved the neck off

i also added the flamer from the cadians and a chaos marauder head with the top knot taken off

next up is a sort of duelist/ rouge trader that i shamelessly copied from KrautScientist, although i did make a few changes.
to start i used a diffrent set of legs and added armour to them, i also used a bit of greenstuff t make the boots more prominant.

i also change the sword to the one from the baneblade kit

i also have some parts ordered up to make an assassin, an arcoflagellant and a couple of mutie scaves and possibly my big game hunter.

oh and here is a pic of the warband so far

Definitely coming along there! I really like how different the sizes are, the pa inquisitor ogryn and servitor dwarf the 'regular humans'. A lot of character there.

Awesome! That elongated lasgun is very imaginative and that inquisitor with the chaos warrior body is brilliant! Looking forward to more terrain as well.

the cloak is from the pistoliers box set it has an arm attached to it but i just cut it off

so i got my first order of bits through time for an update

im building an arco-flagilant i used the head coverd in like a metal cage sort of thing from the empire flagilant kit on a crypt ghoul body

i cut the hands off the crypt ghouls arms and attached them to the body but at odd angles so gonna have to greenstuff the gaps

so i got to play my first game of inquisumander and it was brilliant

it was only a 1000 throne gelt game so we only used a 2 foot by 2 foot board but this was good because i havent got alot of scenery.

i also expanded my warband with a few additions first up is my arco-flagellent

a small cherubum servitor i might make him a familiar with a pyschic power

i really like how he turned out especially the lamp post

and lastly a WIP know only as the tracker i got plans for this guy in the future as he expands he is gonna be like a xenos tracker with a tau pulse rifle and a massive knife strapped across his back but he needs some greenstuff work first

The flagellant is very dynamic, and that Is a pretty sweet light post. The last guy is a good start, interested to see where he goes.
