Howdy Folks,
If any of y'all have been following my Project Log in my signature, you'll know that myself, along with three friends, have begun a Tale of 4 Gamers league. For those of you that don't know what that is, it's when you and three friends each pick an army you have zero familiarity with, as well as zero models of. Each month you add 500 points to your army, and play games against eachother, tallying for a monthly winner.
This battle report is our very first of the official beginning of our little league, and without further ado, I hope you enjoy it.

Battle Report:
Turn 1: Captain
I deployed one of my Tactical Squads (with the Praetor attached) on top of the objective in cover, with the other Tactical Squad inside their Rhino and adjacent to the second objective. The third was across the table in some foliage, and I figured I wouldn't even bother with it. I won the roll for turn 1, and chose to take it (foolishly). As my opponent didn't have anything on the field, I did nothing but shuffle my marines and Rhino around a bit, spreading out some.
Turn1: Ray
As you can see, Ray rolled his preferred wave, having the Bloodthirster deep-strike in by my Rhino and behind some cover. He chanced it by deep-striking his bloodletters right next to his Thirster, but they scattered back some. His turn saw some running closer, and not much else.
Turn 2: Captain
With the Bloodthirster coming in so close to my objective, I switched up my gameplan a bit, choosing to divert my Rhino in an attempt to sieze the objective across the table, and perhaps force Ray to split his forces. The Rhino went a full 18 away from the Daemons, and my Marines bunched up, preparing to unleash the Fury of the Legion.
Turn 2: Ray
Ray closes in, within a turn's distance of charging my Tactical Squad. His second squad of Bloodletters fails to arrive, much to my luck. As the Bloodthister approaches, my Marines' trigger fingers prepare to spray and pray.
Turn 3: Captain
I decide the Bloodthirster is too close for comfort, and I can wait to divert my forces since Ray's second wave is still traipsing about the warp. So, I disembark my second Tactical Squad, leaving them as a speedbump between my objective-holders. Both squads use their Fury of the Legion ability, and some 50 bolter shots later, I have done less damage than I would have hoped. The Bloodthirster escaped with only taking two wounds, and things begin to look grim for the VIIth Legion.
Turn 3: Ray
-Picture Missing
Ray's Bloodletters make it onto the board, and his Bloodthirster and first Bloodletter squads are both ready to charge my vulnerable Marines. His Bloodthirster crashes into my Objective-holders, but his Bloodletters fail to charge the other marine squad, a dash of luck I desperately needed. I sacrifice my Sergeant in a challenge, and he gets massacred, but the squad holds thanks to my Praetor's LD10
Turn 4: Captain
My free marines make a desperate bid for the far-objective, taking two difficult terrain tests in the Rhino and dashing across the board. Miraculously, my Praetor survives combat by rolling three 4+ invuln saves to avoid being insta-gibbed, while inflicting a would back.
Turn 4: Ray
If it looked bad before, this is the point when it starts to look hopeless. The Bloodletters engage the rest of my Praetor's Tactical Squad, and the other Bloodletters move to capture the objective. The Bloodletters manage to kill four of my marines, which itself seems miraculous that so many Marines survived, but my miracle is brief as my Praetor fails one Invulnerable save and is instantly killed. I roll a 3 on my Leadership and the squad holds, though.
Turn 5: Captain
At this point, I decide I have to go for it. My opponent is holding two objectives, has linebreaker, first blood, and slay the warlord. It is a long-shot, but I have to table him with a Tactical Squad and a Rhino. (Gotta risk it to get the biscuit.) I was hoping I could kill his Bloodthirster in one turn, kill the closer squad of bloodletters, take the objective, and tank-shock the other squad off of the second objective, for a win of 3-2. My Rhino burnt rubber toward his units, and I began to cross my fingers.
Turn 5: Ray
His Bloodthirster slammed into my Rhino, destroying it handily, while his Bloodletters just sortof squatted down on their objectives. My disembarkation complicated my plan a bit, but I prepared to fury of the legion the Bloodletter with 40 bolter shots.
Turn 6: Captain
Due in part to some nice rolls on my side, the Bloodletter finally went down, leaving my squad victorious, but also facing an imminent charge that they would be unable to overwatch on.
Turn 6: Ray
Ray made the charge, and of course, tore through my marines like wet tissue-paper. So much for my plan, but a good game nonetheless.
Final Score:
Captain: 1
-Slay the Warlord
Ray: 6
-One Objective
-Slay the Warlord
-First Blood
-Linebreaker

So yeah, that was an ugly one, and a rough start for my Imperial Fists. I do hope you enjoyed it, though, as much as I enjoyed playing it. Made quite a few mistakes, and I expect my next showdown against the Daemons of Khorne will turn out slightly better.
My P&M Log has a link in my Signature, there you will find pictures of my (
IMO Beautiful) Forge World models, my attempts at painting, as well as links to picture and video battle reports.
Thanks for reading, and cheers!
