I am having a hard time with the tube that goes inside the lascannon to stay put. Anyone have any advice?

You mean the fiddly little hanger from the sponson mount to the actual lascannon? Replace it with a pair of magnets, you'll be a lot happier when you do.

Cut the hinge and glue magnet on.
Then fill the hole in the weapon with enough GS or putty of choise so that it cant be moved and drill a hole.
Do the same with heavy bolter and you can swap weapons and still rotate them on the magnet.

Great, thanks! What size magnet would you recommend?

The ones i used are 3mm ones. They are strong enough and fit nicely onto the hinge as can be seen in the pic.

I really should go back and cut my sponsons off my Predator and do this. Too many repairs have left them weak and droopy (no jokes!).

I used the storm raven's hurricane bolter sponson. I removed the bolters and put in the weapons. I always liked the old predator's really well armoured sponsons and always thought the struts just looked too weak. Here is the WIP.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
