Marked_by_chaos over at Warseer wrote:Attended the day today. Was great. Always interesting to talk to the forge world/warhammer forge guys as they can actually talk about upcoming projects and direction.
The points I picked up from the day are as follows:
Battle for black fire pass has been delayed, and the impression I get is that it may not be coming out this year. Horus heresy has knocked the forge world studio for six. Although they have kept on designing warhammer forge stuff, at a slower rate and sometimes in their spare time, the main impact seems to have been with the book design team having been focused toward Horus heresy stuff and the fall of Orpheus imperial armour book. They are trying to rectify this which is why a number of vacancies have recently been advertised to expand the team of writers and artists. They are keen not to rush black fire pass and although the models may be released as they are finished they want a great product with great original art and writing for the book itself.
In terms of future books they are keen to emulate tamurkhan down to having complete army lists and potentially warhammer forge exclusive armies.
The k'dai destroyer is finished but awaiting production and has been finished for around 3 months.
Look out for more command figures for other races over time.
As others have commented Trish Carden is now full time warhammer forge and is apparently going to be heavily involved in completing the monstrous arcana range.
New Orc and empire command units are finished. Empire is standard, captain and prophet of doom. Both look great.
Pushkin over at Warseer wrote:Hi all
I see most of the pictures of the heresy stuff have already been posted. I chatted to some of the designers and the thing that struck me was how many of them were new to FW, there's obviously been a big recruitment drive. They also mentioned that warhammer forge has been scaled down to just two people and that's the reason for the delay in the book.
The designer who is doing sons of Horus stuff said that the contemptors was delayed a bit cos he can't get the body right, but the reavers were finished. The command squad was also WIP.
The fell glaive was meant to be finished this week but needs a few bits done - don't think this will be released till the next book.
iA volume 3 the taros campaign 2nd ed is finished and is at the printers. They had a proof copy there and it looked really good.
I was chatting to the guy designing the iron hands stuff and he's only got started so didn't have much done. Though the painters have been painting up tons of iron hands, which makes sense given ferrus mannus is next after Fulgrim.
Oh and they are going to do more board sections in the style of the crashed thunderhawk. The guys said about doing ruined tanks etc. there are no plans to do any more city tiles at present but he said it is something he would like to do.
(...)
I spoke with Tamilia Fox and she was saying that it was more a rules and formatting update. The book has been out of print for a while so the tau list has been updated for the new codex and for 6ed rules. Also the pages are no longer white, they're the coloured ones like in IA11!
(...)
From what I understood talking to alfonso the sons of Horus command squad and the reavers are full kits - not accessory sprues, this is because he was talking about how he sculpted the individual parts, including sets of legs. The same goes for the iron hands squads.
Also I think people have misunderstood the reavers, they're not veterans or assault squads, they're a unit for the next book.
There are numerous new units that are coming out some of which will be legion specific some of which will not. Phoenician guard were speicofically mentioned.
I get the impression the first book was about creating a base list for the legions with a few legion specific characters and units and there is more to come both in terms of generic legion stuff e.g the fell glaive and legion specific stuff - e.g Phoenician guard, morlocks
Oh and with regards to Morlocks they are definitly in the process of being done because I chatted to one of the new sculptors about the chainmail on their shoulder pads and he said he was shown how to do it by the guy who sculpted the Orc command squad for fantasy. Also had a number of sketches of them out on the table.
Chatting to the guys there were 3 new guys one of whom was working solely on SoH (alfonso) a d another solely on Iron hands. The other was a caster. The Phoenician guard and the palatine blades were being done by someone who'd been at FW a bit longer.
Warhound over at ATT wrote:Well, I say rumours... but these are gospel, as I spoke with Daren Parwood (XV9 sculpting fame) and Alan Bligh... and had the below book in my hands...!
Daren has been given the go-ahead to make another suit!.. I spoke with him some 9 months about some ideas that he has had, to make a suit inbetween the XV-25 and XV-8 sizing... at the time we discussed having a smaller missile laden guy... but this has now been dealt with by the new releases... so, in league with Alan Bligh, they are knocking around the following ideas:
Hyper stealth capability... bascially able to drop in, up front all alone, and be able to get out again.. sort of a 'minime' of the XV-9 MO....
Possible 'big gun'... Daren not sure on whether it will be Ion... or some sort of Ongar Gauntlet type affair...
To be released: unknown, but Daren has already started the sculpt;-)
More importantly.. I was able to read the Taros campaign "redux"... bascially, they has one of only 3 copies in existence at the event, a final copy ready for the printers... As the taros campaign came out before the Apocalypes launch and also, with 6th ed and now the new codex.. they have updated ALL units to be inline with the new release....
key notes that I can remember:
Tetras: H2 TLml, base cost 35, but with Dpod, comes in at ##edit## just under the old points... so a little nerf on the shots there...
XV-9 updated! Full suite of optional upgrades from the codex, including the skyfire ability!!!.. Shas O really- stand alone character that cant join other units at all!!
Full tightening on all the XV-8 AND 9 suits varients... new points, plus 6th ed rules....
Clarifications on all the marker posts and sentries etc.....
Bit of a pain to rebuy the book- but worth it in the end!.. also Talima mentioned that they have retrofitted some fluff to fit with the new canon....
ETA- 2 months....

Dat Landspeeder!
Holy crap now that thing will hurt my wallet...
I have a little hobby-thread going in the P&M section. Some say it's the best blog on Dakka, some don't agree, most belive it would be better if I finished at least one project some time this century and not just kept starting new ones.
Check it out, you just might like it.
Wow, great stuff! Wasn't expecting the design for that landspeeder, but I do think it's pretty cool, and fits the basic aesthetic of the Scimitar Jetbikes. That Fellglaive looks dangerous, now which of the two Fell-tanks should I get?
Any more images of that Necron Tomb... tunneller? I can't read the card but it's a new model - look at the head.
Normally The response would be if we had more pictures of new stuff it would be posted! but in this case the difference is sorta subtle I wonder if someone shot it and didn't realize it was new so didn't post it.

Anyone get a chance to take a peak at the new book for New Necron stats?
Also Ouze, that necron tunnler is in the FWIA12 video with Alan Bligh, you can see the whole thing better. It's the Tomb Stalker with a Head swap, and some spines.

Got the sentinel, scarabs have been on release for a while according to Will Hayes.

Thanks for those images, guys. I actually have a primed but unbuilt Tomb Stalker - i the rules are good I might convert it to one of those, it looks like a simple enough conversion.
Scarabs have indeed been out for a long time, I'd guess at least 6 months, maybe even a year. You can see them here.
