Although I had a similar thread a few days ago I've now physically got the 2 options in front of me and decided on a poll.

The model it is on is just a stand in, which combi melta looks the best? the kitbashed one or the 3rd party one? Is the scope over the top?

What do we think?

I voted kitbash, but they are all good.

Difficult... I Don't see how the kit-bashed one could function as you haven't attached any fuel canisters, but I prefer the look of it to the 3rd Party one. I would definitely say that, with the addition of fuel canisters it would be the Kit-bash.

I presume you've seen the GW combi-melta in the Sternguard/commander packs? If not, there's a link to one on Ebay here:

The fuel canister is left of the skull just above the magazine drum.

I had seen the combi melta but it would prove very expensive buying 10!

Here's the 3rd party combi flamer, not attempted a kitbash for that yet.

I like the 3rd party ones. Where did you get them from?

@OP - Apologies! I didn't see the fuel canister I think I prefer the traditional bolter with the kit-bash over the 3rd Party.

I like the Anvil combies, but the first one looks more like a combi-plasma than a combi-melta. The combi-flamer looks awesome. 1000X better than the weak sauce GW is trying to sell.

I voted kitbash.

I think the 3rd party ones look good but i think they would work better with older armour styles.

Im a fan of the anvil 3rd party guns myself, i also think the scope helps give off the specialist long range look! Nice kitbash though

Kitbash. More identifiable and, in my opinion, better fits the SM aesthetic.

You know where I stand from a few days ago. I would add scopes as not all units have them and someone's stated earlier for the 36" round. That would be hard for iron sights. But they are SM veterans.

If you have the funds the anvil ones are awesome though. And depending on how many veterans you are fielding kit bash and anvil would break up the monotaney.

I like to think of them as green berets not all their rifles look the same, there is a standard but depending on the mission and what roll there will be different items on the rail system.

The scratchbuilt one. Not a fan of third party bits, personally, especially for something like this, where it's so easy to make your own. (And the homemade option looks great!)

I like the Anvil ones, however I don't think the scope is necessary for 24". They make reflex sights that would work way better on a bolter.

IMHO, the scope looks really cool, but as Skoda said, it does look impractical. However for a coolness factor, I prefer it to the others.
