Hello everyone. Adepticon this year was another fantastic event. The past few years were so much fun that we actually convinced more people to join us doubling our one team to two. Please keep an eye out on this thread because we're all going to be posting here and give you all a nice recap of our experience at Adepticon 2013.

To start things off I'd like to show case something that I don't think I've mentioned in previous years. The swag bag.

This was all of the stuff we got just for showing up at Adepticon. There are lots of little samples, some paint, multiple models, armorcast stuff, and bases. On top of all of that we also received some rules and lots of cards from all of the great suppliers and sponsors for Adepticon.

On top of that, we had a lot of AWESOME opponents this year. I think something that has really caught on is gifting your opponents something before the game starts.

Here is all of the stuff from the various teams we played against. The shot glass, measuring device, token, and flask ( which actually had Hypnotic in it ) were given to us from the Traitors Hand team. They actually went on to win an award for being so awesome and handing out great stuff. They also played all weekend in full costume and character. They were awesome opponents too.

One last thing for this first post. Here is a picture of some of our own stuff we had this year. We made our own dice and handed them out to people. They often rolled better for our opponents then for us. We also had a team member make his own beer with our models on the labels. In this picture you can see my Huron model on the label. They looked and tasted great!

Git, that is true.

Oh, i also forgot to mention. This year at Adepticon I won 4 games and only lost 1. Not to bad! I won a game with each of my team mates, and yes Git I am counting that last game as a win.

I've got a lot to upload here over the next few days but I did sneak a good picture of some of our teammates.

Ha HA! I seem to have dodged that team photo!
AND THEY SHALL KNOW NO RAMOS!!

Awesome to see all the extra swag you scored from opponents! I think I may definitely try to do something similar next year!
I've also no pictures to contribute (brought the camera but neglected to take pictures xD ), but I definitely got the Adepticon experience. I didnt win any games, but for the most part I had exceptional opponents! One was a pain, but the rest EASILY made up for it ^^

Cant wait to see the assortment of pictures come out!

Rubbish pic but one of my favorite parts of the weekend. Getting to play with my buds who I only get to see once a year (or less). This was Ice and my deployment in game 1 vs. Grey Knights.

It was a great team effort.. Kudos to Briancj for the shirts, diice bag and bringing the Ord. WM managed getting the dice which we gifted out to out opponents. Sadly the Wardens vs Wardens battle didn't get very far ( 2 turns maybe ) so we called it a tie.

The gift giving to your opponents is great.

Did you guys feel you managed to fit everything in or does the tournament take up time that stops you seeing everything? Is it even possible to do it all?

This year I had a friend take pictures. So the things he took were looking from a new person perspective. Ironiocly he didn't get a full shot of either display nor the 2 combined. So anyone whom has more pics of our display please post. His shots of our display are all specific areas. ( More on that later ).

Obviously he dislikes Xenos as he didn't get any from the abundant showing ( oh well, Some coaching in order for next year!)

Here is some display shot and other cool things...

The Valk-Drake is quite interesting, but if I don't see at least one Helldrake converted to have flames coming out of its ass I will be horribly disappointed with the Chaos Community.

Overall, I did not enjoy the event.

The good:
I am pleased with bring able to meet everyone, old and new friends. I am happy I got into one of Victoria Lamb's sculpting classes. I sculpted a pretty good gobbo head!

The not-so-good:
The two-day Team Tournament format means that it is a lot harder to participate in classes and events and socialization, especially when you have to be up and running by 7am on Saturday and 8am on Sunday.
I am also exceptionally displeased with the painting judges.

A lot more happened in the not-so-good, but it is personal, and has nothing to do with Adepticon itself.

It's all beautiful.

I won't get to Adepticon until 2015 at the earliest though.

The secret to painting a really big army is to keep at it. You can't reach your destination if you never take any steps.

Funny thing about that Tau display. The models themselves were pretty much painted to a nice, tabletop standard... but the display... holy crap... was it impressive! My hat's off to the guys who did it... really impressive.

I love what you guys do.Pity they didn't video the epic battle - I'd far prefer to see an 8k clash of Wardens and Inquisitorial lapdogs than whatever nonsense gets to play off on the top tables.

We actually had a rolling argument about weather or not to play the game on the display board. A certain contingent (including your humble poster), argued that the display board was so awesome it needed to be played on. The other contingent argued that it was too small for 8000 points. It was, but then if we only brought on 1 army per turn (say, the first of each side deployed on and then the reserves came in 1 chapter/army at a time), we'd have been fine and we would have been able to play on that freaking awesome table!

OH, and the funny aside... our first game was actually ON one of the tables with the camera feed. They weren't recording it obviously... but all the stuff was there!
