Great job here, I love the paint work. However, can a Grey Knight really wield a force sword back-handed so easily?

I love these models. The LED eyes are just over the top and add a lot to the demon. Love the Dual Wielding Astartes....great pose.

Those eyes make that Daemon Prince quite menacing. Love it.

Can we get more/closer shots of the Diorama?

Thank you all so much for the praise.
As for being surprised, furbyballer, I just was since I'm so new to painting and especially contests. And yeah, I believe it is possible for a Grey Knight to wield a force sword back-handed--why not? :-D Fritz is perfectly capable of slicing some Demon.

Medium of Death, lots of pics of the diorama and wips are on my blog,. Thank you so much.

The Sword stance of the Grey-knight is a classic stance, I believe attributed to the Spanish just post Renaissance. You use one blade as a defense, while the other is used as the main weapon. I used the same form in Fencing.

I think this is a really good example of a diorama. Good scenics, great posing, obvious inference of a story. Excellent stuff.

The stances of the minis do look a little artificial, (as though they were posing for a photograph) but it seems like the narrative of the piece works with that, suggesting that the two combatants are taking a moment to cut a dramatic figure before joining together in epic combat. (Which seems relatively in character for both demon princes and space marines.)

I would like to see the piece closer up, however. The marine looks awesome, and the demon looks awesome, but I'd like to see a close up of the marine standing ON the ruins, menacing the demon. Some closer in photographs would be GREAT! (Not that the mini isn't already great.) ((Because it is.))

Hmmm. Interesting question...I noticed that your Space Marine isn't based, but instead just stands on his own two feet. The demon, on the other hand, does have an incorporated base. Normally, I've only seen the models in a diorama done one way or the other. Was this an intentional artistic decision, or is there some other reason for the difference?

I like how the whole scene has a rather nice unification of color, by the way.

Jimsolo: Thank you very much The Demon was designed to be removed because it belongs to a client and I made the display diorama just to enter into contest. My husband claimed the diorama and the customer got a gold winning mini. The idea was that future figures could engage in battle with the brave Grey Knight.
