So I figured the Orcs need to loot their aircraft from some where sooooooo I built what i built. Orc players I just looted an Orc vehicle hahaha for the Imperium.

[b]FLUFF

The Mk 86 "Attack Sabre" entered service with the Yaisdra IX PDF Air Force joining the 1st Fighter Wing's 94th Fighter Squadron and became the primary jet fighter used by the Imperial forces before the introduction of Lightnings by the Krieg Marine Expeditionary Unit during the Yaisdra IX insurgency and invasion. While earlier straight-winged jets such as the Mk 80 and Mk 84 initially achieved air victories, when the swept wing Orc Dakka jets and Bommers were introduced in the beginning of the conflict they immediately outperformed all current Imperial PDF aircraft. In response, three squadrons of Mk 86s were rushed to the front line. Early variants of the Mk 86 could not out turn, but they could out dive the Dakka jets and although the Dakka jet was superior to the early Mk 86 models in ceiling, acceleration, rate of climb and zoom. The introduction of the Mk 86-b in later months made the two aircraft more closely matched, with many combat-experienced pilots claiming a marginal superiority for the Mk 86-b.

Really nice!

Is that scratch built, or is it a heavy de-orkifying conversion?

edit: also, cool story, pretty creative.

Reverse-looting?!

Nice work, looks great. Reminds me of the F-86 Sabre, I take it that was the intention with the name you chose?

Thanks guys. Yeah the F86 Sabre was the main inspiration. The de orcing was not too hard but pretty lengthy. In the end I think I got what I wanted. The Mk 86-b is already in the works so hopefully I can post it up too soon. The main idea for this also came from the fact that I play my krieg guard and I wanted another guard army that played different and felt like they were untrained or sub standard compared to my Krieg so I went with the Orc codex for PDF guard.

I might have to steal this idea. Any plans to put a de-orking guide up?

Love the reverse-looted aspect.

I wonder if anyone's ever reverse-looted any truks to restore them back to what they were before the orks got them.

Neat looking conversion, OP. Not a fan of the bright silver paint scheme, but that's a great reverse-looting!

No I really don't see the point in returning someone's house back to normal and a quarter of a tank to fighting shape .

I'm aware, I'm just saying that I don't care for bright silver color schemes.

Great job at turning a Dakka Jet into an Imperial Jet Fighter. And a sweet paint job.

I must do something similar, that is gorgeous.

I suppose it would have been stretching things just a tad too far to have actually used the "Hat in the ring" emblem.

While I was never at Langly, you just can't say things like "1st Fighter Wing's 94th Fighter Squadron" to a 20 year F-15 maintainer and not have him sit up and take notice.

I do love the conversion, and clearly need to do some more looking at the kit, to see if I can make a tie in between me and my dad by converting a "Mk 84" (during his career he worked on a bunch of airframes, including the F-84) in colors reminiscent of the 53rd FS, which was one of my favorite assignments.

Shade that is very very cool! I did some rough drafts for making a rusty Mk84 for the history of my army. I would love to work together and see where we get.

Very nice work!

What was involved in the de-orkifying, other than replacing the crew?

I've been looking at it, on and off, and comparing it to pictures of the Ork Bomma, and what I've got so far is clean up work to the surfaces (removal of the crude leading edge plates riveted on the wings and vert/horizontal stabilizers), omitting the pipes from the engine, cleaning up the engine intake at the nose, leaving off the crude "Orky" landing skid and other bits from the belly.
