Hi folks,
I'm not sure if I've missed a rule, but does Majority Toughness affect whether a model will suffer instant death?
I.e. a prime in a unit of Termegants being ID by a Str 6 Scatter Laser
Or a Farseer avoiding ID from a Str 8 missile will with a unit of Wraithguard. ..

Seems odd, but I can't find anything to say that majority toughness is used for wounding but not ID...

Majority toughness does not affect instant death. Instant death occurs when the strength is double the models toughness. It is talking about the specific model taking the wound not the unit. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong but, I am nigh on certain that majority toughness doesn't affect instant death. that is the way I have always played it and have always seen it being played.

ID is on that specific models toughness. You compare the Str of the wound with the models toughness as per the ID rules. (See Page 16)

Majority toughness is used to determine if a hit wounds, but ID is based on the toughness of the model.

my example, a T3 character is in a unit of T5 models and gets hit by a bunch of str6 shots. The shots wound the character on 3+(not 2+) but inflict ID.
